It doesn't matter how poor we've been. That's not an excuse to gift them a goal. Both fouls, one on the ball and the other on a player. It's a disgrace that they've set the bar for overturning a decision as high as makes no difference so as not to have var in the first place.
Either have it for everything or fucking nothing. That mane goal however just goes to show you that we won't be getting anything today.
Salah is a huge loss whether you like him or not. Mane is too far infield and when we break we've nothing out wide.
We've not attacked well last few weeks and it's going to cost us today

New handball rule for 2019 explained from the premier league offical website :

Quote:
Deflections
Premier League players will be allowed extra leeway when it comes to ricocheted handballs.

It is often impossible to avoid contact with the ball if it has deflected off the body of an opponent, team-mate, or even another part of the own player.

So a handball will not be awarded if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm directly from their own head/body/foot or the head/body/foot of another player who is close/nearby.

Just now, Istvan Kosma said:

As shocking as Atkinson is, our defending for their goal was shocking 1 vs 4 there and 2 players just stopped and left it to Matip.. shocking from us so far... and I can't agree with Origi he has to be stronger...

Agreed. Virgil was too casual in trying to close the space, and Matip could’ve done better IMO.

It was a foul. It was a handball.

Even VAR can't resolve inconsistent decision making.

VAR is inconsistent there's a raised threshold for the ball hitting the hand when it leads to a goal, there's no difference for fouls that lead to a goal though.  So it has to be "clear and obvious", aka "are we able to get away with not making a decision?"

We've been absolutely fucking shit. Klopp needs to shout their heads off. We've been shafted by the ref and VAR, but that's No excuse for the way we have been playing.

Klopp needs to have a go at the ref both at halftime and in the presser after. No matter how the game ends. Blatant cheating, back to the Webb days it seems.

Now defy the fucking odds lads and steamroll them.

Yes we have been shite....but if you are shite and playing versus officials who are biased then you are fucked.

That foul before their goal is as plain and simple as you'll see - as clear and obvious as it gets.

If they aren't sorting that out then you know it is either bent or we are dealing with the implementation of a system that is so incompetent it renders it pointless.

Difficult to see a way back here as Atkinson will clearly keep letting them get away with kicking us, and give them free kicks in every 50/50.

Of course if we stopped being absolutely shite that would improve our odds.

If we were at our best they wouldn't be able to get the fucking ball back.

Big 45 minutes RED MEN. LETS FUCKING DO THIS.

So we’ve been had off there as well as the first goal. Nice.

Neville bleating on about how shit we are when we had 3.lear cut chances. We were just starting to dominate the game when they fucking done Origi

I can't believe this is basically the first time you drop your annoying as fuck "everything negative" shtick and it couldn't be at the worst time or more wrong.

Guess your shtick is just "being wrong all the time". We've had zero clear cut chances. Nothing even close bar a daisy cutter from outside the box.
