Joker - Movie

I saw it this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very different to your usual comic book movie. It’s quite slow, dark as fuck and brutal at times.

I’d heard that Joaquin Phoenix had hammed it up and overacted but I thought his performance was superb.

One of those films that I’ll be thinking about for days, and it’s not often I say that these days.

Just watched it.

It's fucking boss. There's a strange semi-authenticity to it.

I thought they were going to go down a "crazy from the outset" route - which they kind of did and really pushed hard on the old 'mental hospital' theme. But in there were elements of autism, anxiety and low self-esteem in there which I thought were really interesting.

I don't watch lots of movies but I think I want to go see this one. As people have said, lots of conflicting things being said it seems. Some top critics seem to hate it while most non-critics online seem to love it. The criticism seems to be boring, over-acted, story too grim, cliched. I think I'm more inclined to trust the masses, to be honest.

I'd rather you didn't.

Off to watch it later on today. Can't wait.

Have to say, low self esteem is not always a bad thing, its one of the two things I look for in a woman. The other being big tits.

Brilliant film. 9/10

Superb acting by all, shades of king of comedy absolutely, and some art imitating life messages in some of the social nods that quite evidently are as prevalent in america, as they are here across the pond.

For me, you'd be a liar, if the film in some instances and with Joker character - didn't made you feel a bit uncomfortable in your seat, as there is a little bit of all of us in this film and Joker.

Thought provoking and dare i say it, a tour de force of a portrayal of a mentally unstable and unhinged individual, from Phoenix. It will take something out of this world to beat him from winning an Oscar for this. Go watch it.

And if you get chance, go to the Switch Island comfy viewing seat cinema, the first time I've been to one and its ace.

Just watched it.

Very unsettling and unnerving at times and a total tour de force covering someone’s steady spiral into madness.

A serious contender for film, score and actor of the year, without question.

Along with the shouts of Taxi Driver it also reminded me of Black Swan in places.

Saw it tonight, enjoyed it. Loved some of the direction, the score & a couple of really good story lines not so keen on the solar system sized plot holes but it's a comic book film so I won't lose too much sleep over them. 7/10.
