The question they should be asking about the offside is whether it's reasonable that a player being offside that far removed from the goal itself results in the goal being disallowed. Where does it end?

He received the ball in an offside position.

Glorious isn't it.

Our penultimate game of the season is home to Chelsea. Could you imagine if we'd wrapped up the title the week before and Tyler is forced to watch us getting a guard of honour from little Frankie's Chelsea (sitting in 14th place in the league)?

I think he meant how long after the offside the goal comes - ie. how far the play has moved on.

Yep.

My issue with VAR is that it doesn’t go far enough in other scenarios - fouls, dives etc. The offside aspect is 100% right and it’s farcical that it shouldn’t be used to eradicate consequential errors almost entirely.

Fair enough.  Hard work watching the game and reading the forum at the same time.

We're still very open to the switch from open play and the 2nd cross from corners after the first one has been defended. Trents passing is way off and gini is having one of his days. We're 2nil up without really creating much. A bit more of a clinical side to us and we could do these by 3or4.
