I don’t really understand what you mean by saying they aren’t a high calibre opponent. Chelsea away is a cunt of a fixture. We’ve only won once there in the last 11 years or something. They beat City there last season and were seconds away from beating us there last season as well.

Between that draw and the end of the season, the gap between ourselves and Chelsea expanded from 2 points to 25. Since then, they’ve appointed a vastly less experienced manager, been subject to a transfer embargo and lost their best attacking player to Real Madrid,

This is not the level of opponent we should be dropping points to if we hope to compete for the title against a side so feared that the vast majority of teams in the league would snap your hand off for a 3-0 loss before kick-off.

Old Trafford. Stamford Bridge. Years of going to these places and getting fuck all irrespective of league position, form or personnel have taught me to have slightly more realistic expectations. Any win will do. I don’t think it will be as easy as you’re implying it should be.

I'd take a flukey 94th minute VAR fuck up spawny shit scrappy goal to win 1 nil against the run of play.

In-fact I'd prefer it.

I think you are going to be pleasantly surprised.
