If Southampton put the same effort in against the other top 6 sides all the better for us.

They weren't especially good. We gave them the ball time and time again in bad areas and they chipped it over the top into the space. Any Premier League side can do that if we allow them to.

Really good 3 pts after the ridiculous scheduling.

Poor first half but bossed it 2nd and should have won at a canter - played some lovely stuff 2nd half and started to look good.

Adrian needs to fuck that shite off though - his kicking was not up to it at all afternoon and that error for the goal is absolutely inexcusable.

Fortunately it only made the last few mins a bit uncomfortable when they shouldn't have been and didn't cost points - but fucking hell there is no excuse for that.

Mane is so fucking good.

Lots of moaning about the midfield, comfortable win... yep, the footy is back.

Mate, the midfield were really poor in the first half. It was legitimate for people to comment on it. Shelve the superfan shit.

He's getting justified criticism because he hasn't been very good.  He gets away with it because he isn't called Simon or Loris, but for how long...

THIS is how you work the internet

It's not the fact that he was closed down, but more the fact he had Trent and Matip out on the right and all he needed to do  as open his body up and play it simple. That's a howler and he was lucky in the first half with it too. Made 2 brilliant saves however, so all's not lost with his confidence and at least it didn't cost us points.

As for Adrian, I thought he was alright overall. The mistake just came at a time when we least needed it, and he wasn’t the only one guilty of a bit of complacency. On a couple of occasions in the last few minutes Trent tried a few silly passes instead of keeping hold of it.

Trent needs a bollocking for not keeping hold of the ball in the last couple of minutes.

Not defending but watching their goal again, it looks like Gini is pointing to Adrian left, telling him to go back that way. He obviously should have ignore him but he was directed.

People conveniently forgetting the mad shit that he does on occasions and how poor he looked in pre-season.

I actually like Adrian. Think he's decent.

As long as it's a one off fuck up from him I'll lay off him and give him the benefit of the doubt.

That won't stop the whinging and the Adrian bashing though...

He’s shite, there’s a reason he was training with amateurs without a job, he has no business being anywhere near the European Champions

FAIR PLAY FOR GETTING IT OVER THE LINE TODAY.

THAT NEEDS TO BE ADRIAN’S ALISSON  AGAINST LEICESTER MOMENT, IT WAS COMING ALL AFTERNOON. AT LEAST THE LESSON CAME DURING A GAME WE WON.

THE ‘LIVERPOOL NEED TO HAVE A SQUAD FOR 7 TROPHIES STUFF IS NOW MAX 2 EXTRA GAMES IN DECEMBER WITH NO DAMAGE DONE TO THE IMPORTANT STUFF AT THIS STAGE.

Got the last 10m mins on the radio and nearly shat myself. Just seen the highlights.

Given the midweek marathon it was a great result. I thought we would drop points today tbh.

Adrian is no footballer and we need to stop expecting him to play with his feet. He's a shot stopper end of story. Lets live with that and avoid him making any more howlers,

Thought aways were capped at £30.

Last season (maybe season before) their sponsors also subsidised tickets by £10 and they were only £20.

Was getting tickets sent down for £20 the past few seasons but no joy today, some lad down here said £60 for home fans and said fuck that and I can’t blame him but I was thinking about £35/40 in their end but decided against it . Result anyway.

Obviously it's a good result, considering the circumstances especially.

But it's fair to say that the performances so far this season are a bit scary. Our defending hasn't looked anything like the standard it was last season. Norwich got chances, Chelsea got chances, and now Southampton got chances. Last season we'd give up maybe one half-decent chance a game and then maybe 5-6 long shots. This season it's early doors but we're giving up two or three good chances per game. Haven't been punished yet with a loss or draw but if we carry on defending like this it won't be long.

Hopefully Keita will be fit soon, I happen to think his interceptions and tackles are a big part of what's missing. Last season Henderson and Milner seemed to cover it but Milner looks a level below and Henderson hasn't quite been himself either so far. Get a midfield of Fabinho/Keita/Wijnaldum, or maybe Ox in there, and we will hopefully start to sort most of this out.
