As a duo, Laurel & Hardy.

Frankie Howard is/was of my favorites.

Wont be a popular one but I really George Cole.

Surprised John Candy hasn't been mentioned.

All the first four were sublime, but George Cole rep in particular.

His little touches when playing Arfur were pure magic.

Marti Feldman

De Niro(very underrated as a comedy actor)

Harold Lloyd

John Cleese

Woody Allen

Jerry Lewis

Being an arl bastard, I find the 'older' generation, the more funnier generation.

All great shouts mate.  Matthau and Lemon in The Odd Couple as well.

He was very funny in the King of Comedy, I'd agree with you on his later efforts though

I find him more sinister in that film.

I thought he was fine in those Meet The Parents films but nothing to write home about.

Alistair Sim should slot into that list too.

Gene Wilder and Richard Pryer together

May be controversial, but I don't like them as a pair.

Pryor's stand-up is incredible and Wilder is pretty much the benchmark for comic acting in Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein and Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Sex...

But together? Not for me, Clive.
