Before the deluge of games gets too much for me...

Kamil Grabara : Flawless performance on Tuesday at Charlton in a smash-and-grab 1-0 win. Less accomplished Saturday when a daisy-cutter of a clearance straight to Josh Windass resulted in the opening goal for Wigan, which fortunately only cost Huddersfield two points in the resulting 1-1 draw.
Loris Karius : Shock 2-0 home defeat for Besiktas vs. Yeni Malatyaspor sees them drop to third, six points off the top of the league.
Harry Wilson : Not involved in the shock win over Chelsea. Nothing to do with us, hopefully.
Sheyi Ojo : Got around 15 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Young Boys that secured Europa League progress for Rangers, then was not involved in the league win over Motherwell on Sunday. Hopefully nothing to do with us.

Liam Millar : Started up front for Kilmarnock, played 87 minutes, and came off before the brutal stoppage-time winner for Ross County. Kilmarnock still fifth.
Taiwo Awoniyi : Unused sub for Mainz in their 4-0 home drubbing by Dortmund.
Marko Grujic : Played the full game for Hertha Berlin as they ground out a vital 1-0 win over Freiburg. Did not really stand out, but then again, in a team that started Dilrosun, Lukebakio, Selke and Ibisevic, someone has to hang about in the centre circle, waiting for them to lose possession.
Nat Phillips : Got another full game for Stuttgart in tonights 1-1 draw at Darmstadt. 'Unlikely to be recalled from loan'.
Rhys Williams : Kidderminster got a rare win last Tuesday, 2-1 at Guiseley, where Rhys made a goal-line clearance when the score was 0-0, followed by a blank Saturday due to the FA Trophy. His loan ends at the end of December; he would be ineligible for the Everton game, having played for Harriers in the qualifying rounds.
Shamal George : 'An assured performance' as Marine crushed Osset United 3-0 Saturday to move into second place in the league. Would be eligible for the FA Cup tie if needed - I mean, he would probably make a better central defender than some of the midfielders suggested elsewhere...

I'm making a list...

Marko Grujic : Played the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 win at Leverkusen in a 4-5-1 formation, before missing the no-score-bore-draw at home to Moenchengladbach that marks the end of play in the Bundesliga for near enough a month.
Nat Phillips : Missed the 2-2 draw at Hannover with a minor illness. FUN FACT : 'Angina' in German doesn't mean the same thing as 'angina' in English.
Taiwo Awoniyi : Not in the match day squad for the 1-0 home loss to Leverkusen. He could do with a change of circumstances, if that were possible.
Harry Wilson : Missed another Bournemouth game injured. Hopefully won't be out as long as...
Ben Woodburn : Has now suffered another metasarsal fracture, and will be out "until the spring", say Oxford United.
Kamil Grabara : A good win for Huddersfield, 2-1 at home to Notts Forest; while he could have done better with the near-post header that got the visitors back into the game, his save in a similiar position to tip the ball away for a corner in stoppage time secured the three points. Still probably won't be sold for as much as Danny Ward.
Loris Karius : Roundly condemned after Besiktas lost 3-1 at Fenerbahce last night, leaving them in fourth place, seven points off the top. Still probably won't be sold for as much as Danny Ward.
Sheyi Ojo : Got 15 minutes off the bench for Rangers in their comfortable 3-0 win at Hibs. Didn't see much of the ball, and the game had long since been over as a contest when he got on.
Liam Millar : Got around 20 minutes off the bench in another Kilmarnock loss, 1-0 at home to Motherwell, the first game since the sacking of Angelo Alessio. Didn't see much of the ball. Kilmarnock are still, somehow, in fifth place.
Rhys Williams : Played 90 minutes as Kidderminster were held to a 1-1 draw at Altrincham. Surely not jealous of anyone involved in any of our games last week.
Shamal George : Missed Marine's trip to Dunston with 'illness'; not believed to be angina-related.

So, does Xhaka’s impending move to Hertha Berlin mean Grujic will be sidelined.

There’s room for both of them if Klinsmann wants five in midfield, or three at the back; it’s not the obvious best use of the talent they have, unless there are plans to sell Dilrosun, or Lukebakio, or both.

A few lines while waiting for Anderson Arroyo to warm up...

Harry Wilson : Back into the Bournemouth team off the bench against Arsenal helping to preserve a vital point at home, then started in the trip to Brighton, where his creativity was not utilised by his team-mates in his hour on the pitch. Can't be recalled; can still be sold. All will be revealed.
Loris Karius : Besiktas pulled themselves out of their recent slump when coming from a goal down at half time to beat Genclerbirligi 4-1. Er, they were playing against nine men for the whole second half. Can't be recalled (not a condition of his loan, it's just that we'd riot); can still be sold. All will be revealed.
Kamil Grabara : Played both games over the last week, a good performance against Middlesbrough despite the 1-0 defeat, blameless for the goal, and then not as good in Sunday's 2-1 win over Blackburn, where he could have done better on the cross that put the visitors in front, although the highlight of the game was his late save, low to his left of a header from yet another corner that preserved the win. Next up is the relegation six-pointer against Stoke City. Won't be recalled, or sold (even if he is better than any goalie available to West Ham right now).
Liam Millar : Two starts up front for the Canadian international, the first seeing him virtually as a lone front-man in the 1-0 loss at Ibrox (subbed after an hour); played the full 90 minutes and missed the best chance of the game early on in the defeat at St. Mirren. Kilmarnock have lost five in a row, and their search for a new manager continues, having missed out on David Moyes. Can be recalled, technically.
Sheyi Ojo : "Rested" for the aforementioned Kilmarnock game, then an unused substitute in the Old Firm game. "Unlikely" to be recalled during the winter break north of the border.
Rhys Williams : Played 90 minutes in the Boxing Day 3-1 win over Hereford, then sent off in the 2-0 loss at Brackley, a bitter end to his loan at Kidderminster. The suspensions page on the FA website has him down for a three-match ban in league football.
Shamal George : Kept a clean sheet in the Boxing Day local grudge match against City of Liverpool, where the Mariners triumphed 4-0 after the visitors had a player (not called Ray) sent off for a challenge on Steve Irwin. His loan is now technically over. Next stop Inter Miami, perhaps; all will be revealed.

Liverpool midfielder Herbie Kane has joined Championship side Hull City on loan for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old will be with the Tigers until May as they push for promotion from the second tier, with Grant McCann’s team currently ninth in the table.

Kane made two senior appearances for the Reds in the Carabao Cup during the first half of 2019-20, achieving his debut as a substitute against MK Dons in September.

He was named in the League One Team of the Season last campaign after 49 games and seven goals in a loan spell with Doncaster Rovers under McCann.

January sales, or refunds...

Kamil Grabara: At fault for all four goals in the 4-2 defeat by Stoke on New Years Day. “Rested” for the FA Cup game at Southampton, which Huddersfield also lost. Now they can concentrate on the League, etc.
Harry Wilson : Desperate display at West Ham on New Years Day, including conceding a first-half penalty by falling into Mark Noble. Subbed off at half-time. Better against Luton in the cup, although it started by getting a otherwise perfectly good goal for comedy staple Dominic Solanke chalked off by strolling around in an offside position. Set up the second goal for namesake Callum with a cross from the right. It was only Luton, though.
Herbie Kane : Straight into the team for the FA Cup tie at Rotherham, supplied a cross for the second of three Tom Eaves goals to help Hull win through 3-2. Next round, Chelsea.
Allan : Has moved permanently to Atletico Mineiro. No details of a fee in the press release announcing the move.

Marko Grujic : In Florida with Hertha for their mid-season break/warm-weather training; not involved in the 2-1 friendly win over Eintracht Frankfurt last night.
Shamal George : Marine have confirmed on their website that his loan has ended.
Rhys Williams: Rhys was able to play against Hereford on New Years Day, due to the regulations pertaining to suspensions in non-league football, but wasn’t able to prevent Kidderminster losing 2-1. Now serving his three-match ban. His loan may yet be extended for the rest of the season. All will be revealed.

If you're over 21 and being loaned out by Liverpool, your chances of making our current first team are very remote. In my humble opinion.

That said, I wouldnt write Wilson off on the back of an alleged poor game or so in isolation. If he'd been at the club, he'd likely have started all the domestic cup games we've played this season.

Its not just one bad game in isolation its that he seem to drift in and out of games, at least at this level. Would love him to make it with us though.

According to wiki he's been sold for £3.2m, which is a reasonable chunk of change for a lad completely on the periphery of the squad, but I can't see any corroborating article that support that amount.

That’s not bad business at all for an uncapped midfielder who’s older than Chirivella. (Now watch him captain Brazil to Olympic gold in Tokyo this summer, purely for the comedy.)
