Kamil Grabara - Another full 90 for Kamil as Huddersfield were beaten 2-1 at home by Fulham. Looking through brief match reports, the margin of victory for Fulham would have been greater if not for Grabara's performance between the sticks. The visitors had 8 shots on target in the game, with Kamil making 6 saves.

Harry Wilson scored his second goal for Bournemouth with a spectacular free-kick during their Premier League meeting with Manchester City on Sunday.

The on-loan Liverpool winger was sent on as a substitute for the injured Charlie Daniels 37 minutes into the first half and reduced the hosts’ deficit by whipping a supremely accurate set-piece into the top right corner from distance.

“An incredible goal,” said Cherries manager Eddie Howe, whose side were ultimately beaten 3-1 by the reigning champions.

“I saw him do it so many times for Derby last year in big games for them. When we got the free-kick you hoped he might deliver something, but to actually see what he did, it was an incredible goal.”

Ovie Ejaria and Ben Woodburn were in the goals too.

Ejaria set Reading on course for a 2-0 win at Kamil Grabara’s Huddersfield Town; the midfielder drove forward through the centre of the pitch and dispatched a classy low strike in the second half.

Woodburn, meanwhile, opened his account for Oxford United with the first goal of an eventual 3-1 defeat for his team against Bristol Rovers in League One.

Loris Karius kept a clean sheet for Besiktas in a 3-0 home win over Goztepe, their second match of the new Turkish Super Lig season.

In the Bundesliga, midfielder Marko Grujic played the whole game as Hertha BSC were on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline at home to Wolfsburg.

Elsewhere, Taiwo Awoniyi got 25 minutes as a substitute for Mainz in their 3-1 loss against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Nathaniel Phillips helped Stuttgart register a shutout in Germany’s second tier, in a goalless stalemate with Erzgebirge Aue.

Allan Rodrigues de Souza was involved throughout a 0-0 draw for Fluminense at Corinthians in the first leg of their Copa Sudamericana quarter-final.

Two Academy loan players also featured at the weekend; Liam Millar played 70 minutes of Kilmarnock’s stalemate with Aberdeen, and Rhys Williams’ Kidderminster Harriers lost at home to Chester.

Not sure where to put this but bobby duncan has kicked off a shit storm for Liverpool claiming the club is 'bullying' him and 'holding him at the club against his will,' damaging his mental health in the process by not letting himgo out on loan or be sold.

If this is true, I dont care if he is Stevie's cousin, he can fuck right off. Interestingly, Stevie never seems to talk much about duncan.

My boy Woodburn came on in the 67th minute of the League Cup tie against Millwall  and won the penalty that Oxford got to equalise in injury time having bern 2-0 down with 3 minutes left. Them scored in the penalty shootout that Oxford won

I don't have time to keep this thread up to date at the moment.

Here's the latest article from the offal:

Marko Grujic and Liam Millar both scored on a mixed weekend for Liverpool’s loanees.

Midfielder Grujic got Hertha BSC’s goal in their 2-1 Bundesliga defeat at Mainz - for whom Taiwo Awoniyi was an unused substitute - and Academy forward Millar netted the opener in Kilmarnock’s 2-0 win over Hibernian.

Harry Wilson, Bournemouth’s Player of the Month for August, started the Cherries’ 3-1 Premier League victory against Everton, while Sheyi Ojo registered an assist as Rangers came from behind to beat Livingston 3-1.

There were also wins for Ben Woodburn’s Oxford United, who defeated Tranmere Rovers 3-0, Allan Rodrigues da Silva’s Fluminense - 1-0 over Corinthians at the Maracana - and Kidderminster Harriers, with Rhys Williams playing in their 2-0 victory against Altrincham.

Four other Reds ended their games on the losing side, however.

Loris Karius’ Besiktas were beaten 3-2 by Gazisehir, Ovie Ejaria played as Reading went down 1-0 to Middlesbrough, Kamil Grabara’s Huddersfield Town lost 2-0 to Sheffield Wednesday and Shamal George featured in Marine’s 2-1 reverse to Tadcaster Albion.

Harry Wilson claimed his third goal of the Premier League season for loan club Bournemouth on Friday night.

The Wales international threaded a low finish home on 35 minutes as Eddie Howe’s team secured a 3-1 victory over Southampton.

Elsewhere, Wilson’s compatriot Ben Woodburn enjoyed a memorable Saturday afternoon with Oxford United in League One.

The 19-year-old provided two assists for his team en route to a stunning 6-0 away victory at Lincoln City.

In the Championship, Ovie Ejaria featured for 90 minutes in Reading’s 2-1 home defeat against Blackburn Rovers.

There was also frustration for Kamil Grabara in the division on Sunday – he was in goal as Huddersfield Town were edged out 4-2 at West Bromwich Albion.

Shamal George suffered disappointment with Marine, who were eliminated in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup after a 2-1 home loss against Dunston.

There’ll be a replay for Rhys Williams and Kidderminster Harriers – they played out a goalless draw with Stafford Rangers at the same stage of the competition.

Marko Grujic played the whole match as Hertha BSC got their first victory of the Bundesliga season by beating SC Paderborn 2-1 at home.

In the Scottish Premiership on Sunday, Sheyi Ojo, Rangers’ Europa League match-winner in midweek, played 84 minutes of their 4-0 win at St. Johnstone.

And Liam Millar was involved for 72 minutes as Kilmarnock lost 3-1 at Celtic.

Later on Sunday, Allan Rodrigues de Souza played 90 minutes as his Fluminense side fell to a 3-0 defeat at Goias.

Finally on Monday night, Loris Karius’ Besiktas drew 1-1 with Istanbul Basaksehir.

(Filling in the gaps; Taiwo Awoniyi was not involved for Mainz at Schalke, while Nat Phillips was an unused substitute for Stuttgart in their home win over Furth.)

Weekend round-up :-

Harry Wilson: Played 77 minutes in Bournemouth’s eventful 2-2 draw with West Ham on Friday night.

Marko Grujic : Played the full 90 as Hertha saw off hapless Köln 4-0 away from home.

Taiwo Awoniyi: Got fifteen minutes off the bench for Mainz as they lost 1-0 to Wolfsburg. Created a good chance in stoppage time with a smart back heel, which was wasted.

Kamil Grabara: Retains his position in goal for winless Huddersfield. Widely blamed for dropping the ball from a cross for the Millwall equaliser in Saturdays 1-1 draw.

Liam Miller: Played 78 minutes as Kilmarnock were held to a scoreless draw at home by Ross County; won his side a penalty in the second half, which was squandered by teammate Osman Sow.

Sheyi Ojo: Played an hour in the 5-0 dismemberment of Aberdeen by Rangers; subbed off once the result was beyond doubt.

Allan: Played the full game as Fluminense beat Gremio 1-0 at home; picked up a booking. You need a bit of that, when you’re round the trapdoor.

Ben Woodburn: Played the full game as Oxford United beat Gillingham 3-0; involved in the opening goal.

Loris Karius let in four for Besiktas at Trabzonspor. Daniel Sturridge got none of them.

Nat Phillips : unused substitute for Stuttgart against Bielefeld.

Rhys Williams: Played 90 minutes for Kidderminster Harriers in their 2-1 defeat at Spennymoor.

Shamal George: Missed the FA Trophy defeat for Marine at Runcorn Linnets with ‘illness’.

Unreliable update...

Harry Wilson Played 79 minutes in Bournemouth's unlucky loss to Arsenal. Now away with Wales.

Ben Woodburn: Carried off after 14 minutes during the 2-2 draw between Oxford United and Accrington. Diagnosed as a fractured fifth metatarsal; probably out until at least January. Not now away with Wales.

Marko Grujic Played the full 90 as Hertha beat Fortuna 3-1 for their third win in a row. Not now away with Wales, or Serbia for that matter.

Loris Karius Narrowly failed to keep a clean sheet against Wolves in the Europa League on Thursday, then did actually manage one at home to the might of Alanayaspor, as Besiktas ran out 2-0 winners. Now away shopping.

Taiwo Awoniyi Unused substitute as Mainz secured a 2-1 win at hapless Paderborn. Not called up by Nigeria for their 'prestigious' friendly with Brazil in Singapore, obviously.

Sheyi Ojo After playing 90 minutes in the narrow Europa League loss to Young Boys, Sheyi then played 74 against Hamilton, without any direct involvement in the five goals put past Tranmere legend Owain fon Williams. Not called up by Nigeria, still less England.

Nat Phillips : Started Friday's Second Division game for Stuttgart against Wehen in the absence of Badstuber. Lasted 71 minutes in the 2-1 home defeat.

Liam Millar : Played 90 minutes for Kilmarnock in the 1-0 win at Hearts. Managed to avoid getting snidely kicked in the head this week. Now away with Canada as they prepare for their grudge match with the U!S!A!.
Rhys Williams : His scheduled game for Kidderminster Harriers was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, allowing him to get off early to join up with England Under-19s.  Currently NOT playing 'knock-door-run' with Curtis Jones outside Bobby Duncan's room, no siree.

Shamal George Kept a clean sheet in a competitive match for the first time since (checks notes) August 2017, as Marine scraped home 6-0 against Mossley, whose striker Adam Morgan will look back and think that he might have done better.

Kamil Grabara Having referred to them as 'winless Huddersfield' above, they have won both their subsequent games, with Kamil keeping clean sheets against Stoke City and (perhaps less predictably) Hull City. Now away with Poland Under-21s.
