Harvey Elliott

I'm still not completely sold on the lad but admittedly, he was excellent yesterday.

If he can really kick on again and elevate his game to an even higher level, turning it on in big games against top teams, then that would be huge for both Elliott himself and LFC.

The kid is deceptively quick I think, and whilst not being blisteringly fast, he's definitely a couple of steps quicker than our other midfielders and that is something we've been crying out for.

I also think Kloppo has him plugged into exactly the best position for him to shine, that inside right / number 8 position, linking with Mo and Trent. If Elliott proves to be the player we all hope he can truly become then we have a lethal triumvirate down that side of the pitch.

Honestly can't wait to see how the lad develops.

He gives us different tactical options on the right. Trent can come inside - which poses the threat of a Gerrard-esque 25 yarder and Elliot can fill in on the wing. We can't do that with Henderson because he offers no th ing.

Fixed that for you Boss

He will be a top player. Klopp & the club's approach to him in general (taking him to Club World Championship at barely-turned 16 etc.) has always said all there is to know - especially given this is not an Academy-borne player who the club have a special obligation to.

I’m not convinced number 8 is his best position. He’s clearly more of an AM than a CM and Klopp demands a lot defensively from his CMs.

The right sided one has been getting forward a lot more this season though, especially if Thiago plays as the left centre mid.  Where else would you play him?

I think AMR or AMC in 4-2-3-1 would suit him best in the long run.

Would be nice if Henderson and Milner could learn a lesson or two from Harvey and Thiago on how to move the ball quickly....

The difference in ball-tempo and technique was ridiculous to see.

Being 1 or 2 goals up helped that situation. Elliott looks very talented but he still has to prove consistency and long term fitness before we get all giddy.
