He will replace Werner.

Who knows mate. Werner turning a lot of heads and clearly has the tools to make it at a bigger club. That Haaland looks good but could end up being a small fish in a big pond once he moves.

Does anybody watch any Championship football?

There's a cat called Jarrod Bowen who plays for Hull and he seems to score every week. Don't even think he's a striker? More a wide forward.

Oh, and Kalvin Phillips at Leeds. Get him in to replace Milner next season.

I’ve watched one game so far this season; Reading vs Leeds... and you’re right Phillips looked a level above everyone else.

Wouldn't be one for January but if we're looking at a midfielder this summer, David Ornstein just wrote in his Athletic column that Arsenal were interested in Thomas Partey this summer and he desperately wanted to come but Arsenal wouldn't pay the 50m Atletico wanted.

He would be a great fit here and 50m is not much these days.

@Pistonbroke, what’s Marcus Thuram like? He looks pretty good in this video. Tall and quick.

He was dominant at Guingamp. Too big, too fast for most defenders. If you want a comparison, he's like Origi in that he's a tall forward who can play wide left or up front.

Is he any good then? His numbers this season are quite impressive for someone still young.

Haven't been following him since his move. He was hard to handle in France. Defenders had trouble dealing with him physically. Especially because he would play on the left and would barrel through full backs.

I can only speak about his time at Gladbach as I hadn't taken any notice of him before hand. He's done Ok so far this season and made himself a regular. Normally plays on the left of a front three although they have used two up front and now and again with him on the left of an attacking three man midfield behind a lone striker. Looks more effective playing on the left hand side of a front three. Bit early to see if his quality would be good enough for one of the top clubs though.

One of the numbers gurus on twitter thinks that Thuram is a potential gem, so I wouldn't be too surprised if we are a bit interested. He takes great shots, has excellent xG and xA and just looks pretty good across the board. Not much for pressures, though, which may give us pause (though it could be driven by what he's being asked to do).

Championship related- don't know if it's been mentioned- Bradley Dack at Blackburn is nice player. goal-scoring, creative midfielder.

surprised someone hasn't taken him yet in the top flight. good age for a move, 25.

Very rarely watch any Championship football, but caught about thirty minutes of the WBA game on Monday.

Matheus Pereira looked absolutely brilliant, and a completely different class compared to the other 21 players on the field.

To be honest I hadnt even heard of him, but he really looked a class act. Anyone have a qualified opinion upon him?
