No, he was great there, full stop. His issue, though, is that he's been far better in a structure like what he had at Barca where he, Messi and Suarez would play really fluidly and share responsibility. At PSG, he plays as if everybody else is shite. Takes a billion touches, is generally selfish and takes the piss. It's been a poor move for his career.

So he's a poor individual player who can lift his game when surrounded by better players. My point exactly.

He's not a poor individual player, but you know that. You're just arguing for the sake of arguing. Saying Neymar is shite is the least original take in football.

Cruel on Atalanta

That's what happens when you stick eleven men behind the ball and offer fuck all threat on the counter for most of the half.

As we can see there, PSG were there for the taken.

It was 100% guaranteed victory for PSG as soon as the equaliser went in. I expect them to get to the final and face City in a game that showcases all that is good about European football, with two clubs routinely praised for doing things the right way.

Two plastic clubs in the final of a plastic european cup.

Fitting.

And Neymar was influential for the 2 goals as well.

Paris are not final though, AM I’d going to be really hard to beat.

    • Liverpool have finally received some good news with the hamstring injury suffered by Fabinho not as bad as first feared in Tuesday night’s 2-0 Champions League Group D win over Midtjylland.   The Mirror reports that scans have revealed that the Brazilian has only suffered a Grade one tear of the muscle which could see him return immediately after the international break.   When the fill-in central defender fell to the floor grabbing the back of his leg, you could have excused Jurgen Klopp to wonder what other form of bad luck could transpire against his team early in this campaign.   The manager cast an ominous tone when describing the injury on Tuesday evening.   “He felt his hamstring, and that’s not good,”    “He said he could have played on but no sprints, which doesn’t help. We will see, we will know more after a scan but clearly it isn’t good.”   Already without Virgil Van Dijk for the rest of the season and with Joel Matip on the treatment table once again, it was left to young prospect Rhys Williams to come on and gain some invaluable experience and he certainly did not look out of place.   If Fabinho’s return to full fitness sticks to the speculated timeline, he will miss two league matches (West Ham and Man City) as well as Atalanta in the Champions League.   The report also stated that Matip will not be risked for this weeks clash against the Hammers but could be fit for the Atalanta clash.   Jordan Henderson can be used as a emergency fill-in option as well as Williams and Nathaniel Phillips who had a encouraging spell in the Bundesliga with Stuttgart last season.

    • Do we think that the new European wide lockdowns will have any impact on the leagues? Germany and France and Spain have already gone into more severe restrictions and England will surely be next. I wonder if they'll want to curtail sport for a few months or weeks at least
    • While I think there's hyperbole in the that, with the criticism toned down, I can see valid points about his performance. I would agree that Mitrovic is more important to Fulham than Sturridge would be; Mitrovic played 82 league games with 40 goals for Fulham, Sturridge has played 17 league games, scoring 4 goals in Turkey within the same 3 year time frame. He's also without a club due to a 4 month worldwide football ban.   Micah Richard's article reads like a friends justification, but it's neither insightful or enlightening. It opens with "Daniel Sturridge is far too good a player to be out of the Premier League after only just turning 31 but, let's face it, the reason he is currently without a club has got nothing to do with his age, or his ability. It's not because of his injury history or wage demands, either - it's down to the label he's been given as being difficult, or a problem player. I have no idea where that perception has come from, but it is a reputation that is completely undeserved." If I was calling it for reasons he's without a club, I'd say wage>injury history>age>attitude>ability - ultimately he chooses to sign or refuse what he's offered, given that it's October it's fairly natural to assume his desire to play will be questioned. Talent is the last of my worries, I hope he doesn't let it go to further waste while weighing up his options.
