Just start singing Play Up Pompey at the horrible scummers

Nah  some are ok for the most part, I don’t get into that bollocks , I’ve worked in both towns and the pair of them are pretty much shite though met some alright lads in both.

They seem revel in the fact that Pompey have lost even when they have , which I find odd.

Yeah  don’t get it,  I always say to them though bollocks to what others are doing it’s how your team are doing , mad.

Plus in the pub sometimes they break into that song Oh When The Saints, the only one they know I think, then at the end something is said about Pompey, I have to stare at the optics or phone cringing .

Ha ha. Pickford levels of keeping from the Leeds goalkeeper. Brentford lead in a game which could see them go above Leeds.

All is not well in the tropical paradise of Burnley...

Quote

Burnley Football Club can confirm they have given Ben Gibson permission to train with Middlesbrough Football Club.

The defender made it clear, in the weeks leading up to the end of the January transfer window, that he wanted to leave Turf Moor to seek regular first team football.

Unfortunately for the player, the club did not receive an offer it felt was acceptable and he remains contracted to the club.

Millwall just scored a blatantly offside goal. Two players a couple yards off. lino with a clear view and it stands,

VAR does have some good points,

Kilmarnock score again after a Morelos goal was ruled out for a nothing 'foul.' Stays like this will surely kill off Rangers title hopes.

Some pretty bad chanting by the Kilmarnock fans, die, die ricksen? Shocking.

Its was a correct decision the foul mate.

Is that right they were singing that? Vile cunts. Its far from just an Old Firm issue some of the vile shit up there. Hearts fans are as bad as most for a start and Aberdeen had a banner about Morelos. If Kilmarnock fans have sung that then its up there with some of the worst I can imagine.

I thought it was a soft one (foul) to be honest and if VAR was used in Scotland, I think the Kilmarnock equaliser would have been looked at as there was a suggestion of accidental handball.

Yeah, the Kilmarnock fans were deffo signing die, die ricksen and it came over quite clear on the BT feed.  I dont know if there's history between the two sets of fans as Ive only been watching Rangers since Stevie's been up there. There was no mention by the commentators but I guess they're told not to comment on such vile chants and only apologise if you hear 'fucking cunt!' from the pitch side mics.

I've just searched twitter looking for any reference to Ricksen and can't find anything about it. Not saying they didn't like. Most non Old Firm teams hate Celtic and the other lot. Doesn't excuse anything like that.

Gerrard threw his players under the bus in his interviews after the game there. Again. Always knew he was too good for them.

All I can say was I heard it a minute of two when the Kilmarnock fans were celebrating their equaliser. Im not a Rangers fans so Im not bigging them up or doing down Kilmarnock. But it was pretty clear to me.

    • A forthright Andy Robertson says no excuses can be made for their current form as the Reds slumped to a club record fifth straight home defeat in the league.   Mason Mount scored the decisive goal just before half time when he cut inside and produced a sublime finish as the West London continued their momentum under new boss Thomas Tuchel.   in contrast, the reigning champions created precious little, recording just one shot on target (a tame Gini Wijnaldum header) for the full 90 minutes.   For the previous couple of seasons, Liverpool seemed to break records on a seemingly weekly basis.   The football world was in awe of their perseverance and mentality. You did not have to necessarily like Liverpool, but you sure had respect them for their achievements.   Returning to the modern day and we are now seeing a pale imitation of that outstanding outfit.   In truth this is not a great surprise with the amount of long-term absentees and countless players coming in and out of the team meaning there is no continuity.   However on any given match day there is enough World Class talent and Internationals in the squad who have the quality needed to score goals and win games of Football.   Speaking after the match to the BBC(via The Independent), the Left-Back pulled no punches.   “These games are won and lost on fine margins and these goals can’t happen. For us to get beaten on the counter attack is not good enough.   "Five home games without a win, that is nowhere near good enough. Nothing is going to help the fans at home and it is simply not good enough because games are running out for what we want.     Robertson indicated that confidence is low within the squad but says it is no good just feeling sorry for themselves as there is a job to do and games are running out.   “Too many heads are going down when we go 1-0 down, we can’t do that. Football is about taking knocks.   “We can’t rely on the past. Last season is over with, it is done.   We have nowhere near been good enough to what a Liverpool team should be. We are dropping further and it is not good enough.   “Games are running out and we need to put the pressure on the teams below us.   "People will think we are down and out and we need to get the results to show them we are not. At the moment we are not doing that.”

    • I have to agree. I’d like stats on every teams’ home performance this season. I suspect confidence is short in all teams at home, due to exactly that- no home advantage. Likewise, teams’ away form must surely have taken a turn upwards. We’ve lost most of our games in 2021, precisely because we’ve been at an empty Anfield more times than on the road. It must be a factor.
    • Last time I listen to Twitter over a player...   Got to be honest I hadn’t heard of him till we were linked with him but after reading and listening to everything about him I was expecting some sort of Xavi , Inesta type player who would dictate the pace and flow of every game with nobody able to lay a glove on him. What I’m seeing is a guy who struggles every game and more often that not is slow and ponderous on the ball and like the rest of the team looks a yard off the pace. As has been said maybe judge him next season but even last night we looked slightly better when he went off which admittedly isn’t saying much.
    • Yep.   I'd rather finish 10th and just reset in the League, if only with the current injured lads back.   See how Jota and Thiago go - with Virgil, Gomes/Matip (between the two of them, that's hopefully makes the "other" Henderson and Fabinho all fit again.   Almost like, forget this League season, and try and start again - the way we simply couldn't the minute VvD went down and others followed. (I know there was the Aston Villa result, but fuck that.)   Just start again with as many back as possible, fuck Europe completely, and see whether the nucleus of 19/20 can somehow climb the mountain again under Klopp.    FSG won't buy anyone, and let's just pray they don't sell anyone good.
    • As shite as we were tonight against Chelsea I fail to see what the difference is between the handball given against Ryan Bertrand (Southampton v Wolves )  and the one not given against Kante.   Happens after 1 min 20   https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0wMdolT4_a8&feature=onebox
