9th defeat of the season for City. That points to some pretty fundamental problems: for context we lost 2 in Rafa's penultimate season. Would be reticent to conclude from Thursday night's victory that they are going to morphy into a different outfit next season and shift 30 points around.

Bit of a spanner in the works of the idea that City are nailed on for a next season without crowds. Two losses from five games with a win over the catatonic champions team the only real highlight.

Well yes; I've sort of suggested as much over a few posts here, but this conclusion that silent-stadiums are a game changer is something of an unfounded Sky/Carragher-esque soundbite. It is all very incconclusive.

City have now lost more games than Wolves, Arsenal and United this season. It is not very impressive.

Battling performance from Southampton. Think I'm right in saying they close their opponents down quicker than any other team when they lose the ball, even quicker than us. It's something Hasenhüttl did well at Leipzig and at Ingolstadt before that. City look toothless at times without Auguero, that Jesus fellow is wank and also a dirty cunt to boot. They rely far too much on their midfielders to chip in with goals which isn't that easy when you have a defence that is battling hard, something which City and poor old Pep don't like. That's 9 defeats this season despite dominating just about every game, that suggests their main problem is a tactical one.....*looks in Pep's direction and taps nose.

Poor Sky, Tyler et all, from jizzing their pants midweek to the fact those Manc cunts are 23 points behind the actual Champions.

City’s longest winning streak this season are three games.

Don't mock it ffs

Be dead hollow anyway if they win it.

For all the talk of 'asterisks' people like to throw around, if there is one competition that would deserve an asterisk against it this season it is the European Cup.

Yes; there has been a very trite suggestion that Kompany leaving has been their undoing. Well, Kompany started 13 of 38 league games last season. The arguement doesn't really hold water. For context Adam Lallana will quite probably have made as many appearances for us this season as Kompany did for City last year.

More likely is that they, like any team, will suffer from a combination of Silva/Fernandinho being at the end of their rope, Sane being unavailable all season and Aguero being perennially injured (he scores a goal-a-game when not). Sane and Silva are leaving while I expect Fernandinho/Aguero will contribute less -- not more -- next season. I actually think it is as possible that they fade further next year than emerge stronger, summer recruitment excepted.

Not sure about 'Asterisk' but it deserves a big fuck off 'Adrian' next to it.
