Eddie Howe is still having to rely on a whole group of players who were promoted with the club in 2015. People like King, Callum Wilson, Stanislas, Cook, Francis and Gosling. Apart from Ake, their lack of success in the transfer market is an eye-opener, and the amount of money wasted is alarmingly bad. In the last couple of years they've been fortunate to have at least 3 sides worse than them. This time around they certainly look to be one of the worst 3.

It's funny, every time I see the league 'as it stands' I momentarily start working out what the result means in the grand scheme of things. Then I remember, we're the fucking champions already!!!

All those core group of players with the same manager, who's clearly run out of ideas, and who has nothing new to tell them, have run their course and fading fast. They over-performed for about 2 years while they were still something of an unknown quantity, but with their money not being spent on the right players (they weren't right for us, either, but we were selling, not buying) that impetus has become impotence.

 

As Doctor Troy alluded to, if they are relegated, as seems inevitable, who will we look to to offload our 'not going to make it here' players? Michael Edwards will have to find a new sucker, but as he's Michael Edwards, we've every faith in his ability to do that, too.
