Other Football - 2019/20

I'm not one for gossiping but just got this sent to me and may as well pass it on. Could be bollocks, like.

Tottenham Hotspur FC. Jan Vertonghen caught sleeping with Christian Eriksen wife. Harry Kane got involved, big dressing room bust up. Club refusing to offer Vertonghen a new contract. Eriksen was due to join Real Madrid but personal reasons stopped the deal. Half the players not taking to each other, Eriksen said he’s not in a good place to play football. Pochettino unable to resolve the situation, likely to join Real Madrid in the summer and take Eriksen with him and possibly Kane.

Sterling and Guardiola’s defence of silva, just fucking embarrassing. Ignorance doesn’t cover it

So his much lauded campaign against racism doesn’t extend to criticising his own team mates? Who’d have thunk it. Keep pocketing that oil money.

Just watching sunday supplement then and Martin Samuel was asking what Raheem Sterling was supposed to do, when speaking out might have led to him falling out with the club?

Absolutely insane this whole situation.

I do have a but of sympathy fot sterling, as i dont think he is particularly bright young lad and i think he struggles when speaking off the cuff generally. Think his whole PR team made the most (not a great phrase) of the situation last season to make him the spokesman for young black footballers and voice against racism in the modern game. Its all well and good crafting twitter and instagram posts for him or preparing interviews and such, but when he has to talk off the cuff about situations, as he did last night, he was seriously floundering, talking about how the two images have small heads and the lips arent even big. Was painful to see

If you want to become a big figure in a cause, you can't back down as soon as it affects your circumstances at a particular club. Then again, it's probably more his PR that has thrust him forward as a beacon for the oppressed, as opposed to him wanting the mantle.
