Pity, at 2-1 Everton had plenty of chances to equalise if Mina didn't have a square head. City were all over the place from set pieces, a better team than Everton might have taken points off them today. City play Wolves at home next, so you never know. Bitters away to Burnley, so hopefully in the bottom 3 before the international break.

Genuinely not being snide with this, but the BBC is awash with commentators and pundits saying this was a really promising performance for Everton because with better finishing they might have got something.

That lack of finishing wasn’t a one-off or sign of bad luck which may soon turn, it’s the level of their forwards. They lack the sort of player you’d hope might take those chances and will barely have anyone in double figures for goals this season. City also have a fucking dreadful defence at the moment, especially from set-pieces.

Long hard season awaits because their strikers are terrible. That Lookman must have been woeful if Calvert-Lewin was the better option to keep of the two.

Calvert-Lewin's the sort of player we'd have sent out on loan for several seasons before finally letting him leave to a League 1 team on a free. They've needed a decent striker since Lukaku went, and have pissed their money away on dross.

Just now, El Rojo said:

Silva is stealing a living. The highlight of his time there has probably been a relatively solid first 95 minutes in our home fixture against them last season. Has he actually achieved anything, anywhere in management? An elite level bluffer.

His win against Utd at the back end of last season. Kept him in a job and made the Ev fans believe in him again. It will never get that good again.

He masterminded the draw that inevitably cost us the league, probably Evertons biggest achievement in over 20 years, they'll be putting a statue of him outside their new stadium.

Aye. Then look at the resale value as well. In total, I'd say we've doubled what we paid for those players, at the very least, possibly pushing 2.5-3X given they're all under long term contracts. Everton's- you'd be lucky to get half what they paid.

What a time to be alive.
