The match was utter dross. Brighton as the away team tried, Newcastle were a disgrace, gonna be a long season for their fans with that knob Bruce in charge. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were relegated. The only hope they have is that there are at least 6 other teams who are every bit as bad. The quality in the PL has declined dramatically over the past 5 seasons, apart from ourselves and City and their billions.

True but not surprising given the vast gulf in resources. Naturally I'm pleased we're one of the "haves" but the state of the game for the "have nots" is desperate. We won't see another Leicester any time soon if ever.

Still quite a few teams spending big mate, yet the quality of their football is gash.

Especially including the club who went from 'We can't spend money like those across the park' to 'We've got a billionaire owner, we're richer than you lot'. To be fair, they've made their voices heard, shouting from the rooftops about winning the Transfer Window, this summer and last. Bought shite players, and still playing shite football, and getting shite results, but they made their voices heard.

Ive not read the thread or heard any reports/pundits regards the City game, just seen the score, but I would wager someone somewhere- likely on MOTD or Sunday Supplement will say something along the lines of-"just look at Pep going Berzerk at a misplaced pass at 8-0 up- that shows you how high his standards are"

Barcelona determined to make the Spanish league exciting, Real will probably get dicked as well tomorrow. If Atl Madrid weren't so wasteful they could have had one hand on the trophy already.

"Match Day" - a documentary produced by Barça, will have an episode focusing on the defeat against Liverpool in the last CL semifinal and follow the locker room reaction. The documentary is set to be released at the end of 2019

I can imagine Messi having a breakdown in the corner of the dressing room like Rambo at the end of First Blood when Trautmann says its over.

My birds Dad lives in Madrid and is paying for us to fly over towards the end of October. Told her he is getting us tickets for Atletico v Bilbao. Hope so like. He has a season ticket for Alcorcon. Blue nose by trade though.

Atlético 11/1 and Sevilla 30/1 to win the league.

The big two are shit enough that 80 points could win it this year.

Reckon Barcelona will eventually click in to gear. Real Madrid are fucked though. Their midfield is done, and the forwards have no interest in working together.

FFS, it's only been 6 games.

If you love Rafa so much, then fuck off to China with him, this club was here before him and will be here long after him. Instead of moaning, get behind the lads and give the manager your backing.

Steve Bruce, he’s got a big fat head. A big fat relegation head.

ZZ won't last much longer, bizarre decision from Real to go down that avenue again. Barcelona have their own problems mate, but as you say, they'll probably click sooner or later. Atletico with the run of games they have had to begin their campaign should be on 15 points instead of 10. As things stand it could be one of the best seasons in ages for La Liga and the neutral fan.

The state of that Manc bench and indeed their starting 11 fills me with joy. They have however finally got around to replacing Howard Webb with Anthony Taylor, best signing in years for them.
