Football managers who managed rival clubs

I wouldn't class Boro and Newcastle as rivals, but

are we looking for rivals or City rivals here?

Either, really. I’m not sure Middlesbrough and Newcastle consider themselves rivals. A lot of people seem to think Middlesbrough is in the North East, but it’s actually in North Yorkshire.

Terry Neill - Arsenal and Spurs

Alan Ball - Portsmouth and Southampton

Steve Coppell - Palace and Brighton (those clubs are miles apart but hate each other for some reason)

I posted Neill and Ball earlier in the thread. Coppell is a good one, though.

I think you mean Teesside,Tony. But yes, historically it's generally been attached more to Yorkshire than the North East.

Ask a Chelsea fan who they'd consider more of a rival out of us and Spurs?

Fulham at a push might be their geographical rivak

Tottenham and Chelsea fans can’t stand one another. Younger/modern Chelsea fans would probably say Liverpool, though.

Using managed in the softest terms but Bruce takes this by a mile

Faxed Birmingham to resign joins Villa

Faxed Sheff Utd to say he was off and so was his staff to join Newcastle

Complete shithouse behaviour, if it was a foreign manager the press would string him up, but different rules for the LMA brigade

Sunderland and Newcastle

Villa and Birmingham

Sheff Utd and Sheff Weds
