Huawei MiFi / Mobile Broadband

Recommended Posts

I need a dongle or something similar and I’ve seen these MiFi things knocking about. Has anyone tried them? I want to know if they’re worth getting or if they’re a load of shite before I commit to a contract.

I need an internet connection that’s different to my home IP and both mine and my missus’ phone WiFi hotspots. It’s for matched betting ‘on behalf’ of somebody else so using a VPN is out of the question because a lot of of the bookies won’t allow it.

Also, having unlimited portable WiFi would be very handy for long car journeys with the kids.

I have 2 mobile broadband devices. 1 with 3 and another with EE.

I get 15Gb for £20.10 p/m with 3, and 15Gb for £22.42 p/m with EE.

I primarily use them in work to stream sporting events. I've used them on trains while travelling and they hold their signal fairly well, just obviously dependant on network coverage, which is why I have the 2 devices.

I'm due upgrades on both devices, but I'm holding out until the 5G rollout begins later this year.

Sorted one out through 3. My phone is with them anyway and the reception on it is much better than my bird’s EE one.

It was either unlimited data for 24 months at £22 p/m or I could buy the device for £30 and get an unlimited sim for £20 p/m on a 12 month contract.

Went for the second option. Works out cheaper and I’m not sure I’ll still have any use for it in 12-18 months time.
