Yeah it is McCartney... written about Lennon's infant son.

And a typically wonderful piece of Lennon-McCartney collaboration.

"Jules" turned into "Jude".

McCartney initially had "the movement you need is on your shoulder" as a filler line, when he showed it to Lennon as a work-in-progress.

Lennon told him it was the best line in the song, so it stood.

No mate, not at all. He just always seems to be the main composer of the Beatles songs I like least (Yesterday and When I'm 64 immediately spring to mind). Love plenty of his other stuff, though.
