Unless I've missed it the 68 comeback special should be on here.

Also @Total Longo can fuck off with his Elvis was shite shit. Elvis was, is and always will be fucking brilliant

68 concert was brilliant.

Have you watched that HBO doc on him called Elvis the Searcher yet  Lee? It's a two parter that's showing on Sky Arts.  Supposed to be brilliant. Have it recorded and looking forward to watching it.

Can't forget these either

Fine and mellow. Billie holiday, with Coleman Hawkins and Lester Young (The prez)

Young apparently gave the nickname 'bread" for money in the Smokey clubs of Harlem. The word genious is not in anyway overblown when his name enters a musical conversation.

Most of the artists on this record had massive substance abuse problems. All were the top of the tree in a golden era of  jazz improvisation.

Holliday at this time was starting on a spiral of heroin addiction, however when singing sounded like a chaffinch just sent to heaven.  The horn section backing  her were imo  indeed out of this world.

"Love will make you drink and gamble, stay out all night long"

Wonderous.

Dire Straits. My first musical love. Great band

Apologies for quoting myself, too late to edit. (Neg away).

I made the mistake as I grew up of selling off my Dire Straits collection as I thought they were 'uncool'. When I got my record player I slowly managed to get old of all the albums on vinyl. Forgot how good they were and feel a little ashamed at selling off my CD's and tapes now. The folly of youth I guess.

Still love the Brothers in Arms album and rate it in my top 10 albums.

Have you ever seen the Life on the Road episode with Knopfler and Brian Johnson (ACDC)? Two old Geordies reminiscing about their misspent youths. Great stuff.
