Why is it ‘brave’ for a professional to step up and take a penalty? That attitude is why   English sport consistently falls short.

Used to describe England teams after a knockout stage defeat, and ANY Scotland side in a major tournament.

Phil Neville will be thinking if I finish third an MBE might still be in the offing. He just said they went down to ten men, mmmmm.

But she’s a remarkable captain and remarkable human being.

Neville just credited USA for their "experience" by playing the ball into the corner and keeping it there.

You have to just put your hands up to that kind of tactical masterclass

laughable isn't it? But they've had the time of their lives.

Straight outta Everton's handbook when defending a draw.

England's womens team are the most Spurs-y side ever. They've both got a goal-getting gonk up front (Kane/White), a defensive lumbering oaf (Dier/Bright), and a headless chicken at left back (Rose/Stokes).

Goal-getting gonk is second only to slack-jawed mong when describing Kane.

They have to knight Neville surely?!

If anything he has exceeded Southgate?

Laughable as you rightly suggest.

I know, right? Whenever I play footy people are queuing up to take them, it's basically a free goal.

Olympics next summer with team GB. If he wins at least a Bronze medal he'll probably get an honour, two a penny anyway.
