Was thinking about this earlier - maybe Klopp is done for good....

His whole thing is based fundamentally on relentless and boundless energy and as you get older you just naturally don't have as much.

His personality of course is enormous and that personality along with his charisma and the aforementioned energy is so important and whilst of course he also has a lot of other skills and attributes that make him a great manager, maybe just maybe as he gets older he just won't be able to do what he has done in the past because he just won't have the same energy and as you get older you naturally change, I just can't see Klopp as a statesman like type manager - it is all running around in a cap and a pair of trabs for him and being a livewire and a lightning rod....and is he going to want to do that or be able to when he is in his 60's and so on.

He loved it here and was loved and he decided to walk away early because he is tired - his style and his ways must be tiring for him.

Yes he can take a break and maybe that will recharge him - but will he want to go through it all again as he ages.

I really think this might be it for him.

Yeah I don’t think the German job is as nailed on as everyone thinks and I’d be amazed if he takes a club job again after being with us it just won’t be same because he needs that connection with the people

As you said he’s getting older and I think if he does come back it will be only for 4-5 years maybe German job 2026 World Cup and 2028 Euros and that’s him done but who knows?

One thing I’m gonna bloody miss him

I reckon this is his last gig. A couple of players mentioned how the game would miss him, like he won't be back. Klopp himself in one of his interviews pretty much ruled out being a manager again - while saying he will work again. Klopp was a big hit as a pundit in Germany while being Mainz manager (I think in WC 2006). I reckon he'll go back to that and maybe take some ambassador work with us and his other clubs etc.

Would he take the German national job at some point, maybe, especially if they’ve another disappointing tournament or two?

Life is dynamic.

As it stands, Jurgen is feeling a bit burnt out. However, he thrives on passion, and I imagine he has ways of topping up the adrenalin-the life force-in 12 months, paying attention to all those factors of lifestyle that we know, scientifically, make a difference in the life of a human, Jurgen, as a new and improved version of his current self, could do anything he chooses to feel passionate about.

Hell he just grew his instagram account to 2 million followers in just a few days. Imagine a Kloppo YouTube channel-about ANYTHING that he’s passionate about.

I can see him managing again. Maybe Germany, if it became available and timing was perfect. The intensity & passion w/o the endurance of the role at club level.

Saw this earlier, could be nonsense of course.

Lines up well with his next job not being a manager, maybe. More time with the kids and grandkids..etc which he’s alluded to wanting.

Yeah saw that. Still, it’s a Lineker take. If they win the CL final, with Jurgen watching….a little of that old fire in the belly may show itself

Or if they need a manager (in case of an emergency) further down the line then they have Klopp already at the club.

Makes good sense, but time will tell if it’s rubbish of course.

I can’t see him managing a club again as he’s obviously burnt out and it’s a really big ask to just have a break and then find the energy levels and enthusiasm again.  Maybe managing Germany but my bet would be that he and Ulla will throw themselves into some kind of charity work.

Lineker thinks he's going to be the president of Borussia Dortmund. Oops just seen the post above sorry.

Well, this didn't make me cry at all.

I wasn't overly bothered with the last day stuff.  I think I would have been had I been in the stadium, but watching at home I found it all a bit over staged and not emotional. This video is what it's about for me.  This is emotional (to me).  People who were so affected by him as a person that they needed to write to him to tell him is beautiful.

Beautiful video.

My take on things are that Klopp wanted to end his contract early and the club had a clause that if it happened he couldn't manage a club for 12 months.

i think he will replace Ancelotti at Real Madrid next year

I could be wrong but 9 years at Liverpool tells me he's about as far removed from a Real Madrid manager as you could get.

I think there is little chance of him managing a soulless club like that.

I can see him managing Real Madrid or Barcelona after a good break, if the opportunity comes up in the next couple of years. He's still got another club job in him I think, but would not be surprised either if he takes over the German national team.

I have no idea why people think clubs like Real or Barca would be on his radar after spending 7 years or more in his only managerial jobs. He rebutted Bayern and interest from United so it seems he would be miles away from those jobs which would probably be lucky to last a season or two at best. Hes more likely to manage Majorca that Madrid!

He rebutted those clubs as they didn't feel right for him at that point in his career and his life, he was still a relatively young man. He's by no means ond now but by the time he manages again he'll be in his late 50s and already a grandad, maybe he'll want to try something different at a club that perhaps doesn't require him to give the same emotional energy.

I wouldn't blame him.
