These are 10 I always come back to...

James Brown - It's a New Day

Aretha Franklin - Rock Steady

The Temptations - Funky Music Sho' Nuff Turns Me On

Led Zeppelin - Out on the Tiles

The Faces - You Can Make Me Sing

King Crimson - Starless

Led Zeppelin - In the Light

The Supremes - Stoned Love

Black Sabbath - Into the Void

James Gang - Funk #49

I've not included instrumental stuff as they're not really 'songs'.

Repped for Starless. Its one of those songs that can't be in the background. If I'm doing something and it pops up on a playlist I have to stop what I'm doing and listen. Brufords drumming is otherworldly.

I like the version with the violin, its all good though.

Fucking hell, I knew this would happen. Can't believe I didn't include my favourite song of all time, AM180 by Grandaddy. Probably exchange it for one of the Pixies tracks in my list.

I saw Jason Lytle play in Galway a couple of weeks ago, amazing voice and songwriter.
