Very much is. Most people in Wakefield who are into footy are leeds fans in my experience, but far and away most follow the wildcats.

Wakefield Trinity are the Rugby League team. Once upon a time they were a good side and the film This Sporting Life, starring Richard Harris, was filmed in the area. 
 

Check out the Splashdown Final for one of the great sporting disasters. 
 

They do have a football team. Way down the pyramid, but with some money and ambition behind them. At the moment they share a stadium with Trinity. I actually went on Saturday, they won 6-0 and I had a nice pie.

 

Most people in these parts are Leeds and Wakefield Trinity fans. They definitely know more about Rugby than they do Football. 
 

I’m pretty sure the answer is Wakefield.
