Best and worst endings of TV programmes

Recommended Posts

Best: The Shield

Worst: Dexter

Most predictable reply: NV saying Six feet under

Thinking about it, Michael C. Hall has been involved in one of the most acclaimed and one of the most derided TV endings of all time.

Best is obviously SFU. The Sopranos and Breaking Bad are also very good.

The Shield, GoT, and Dexter all pretty much a let down for different reasons. But the worst, hands down, is Sons of Anarchy. Utter wank.

Thing about Michael C. Hall, he’s a seriously good actor. He wasn’t at fault for Dexter. It was just the plot became retarded beyond belief.

At the end of The Office, everyone got all giddy about Dawn coming back for Tim, but what really made it for me was Brent telling Finchy to fuck off.

Anyway:

Best - Blackadder Goes Forth

Worst - Eastenders (because it hasn't happened yet)

Great thread.

Best, Star Trek The Next Generation. Picard attends his first ever card game with the crew.

"I should have done this a long time ago."

"You were always welcome".

"Five card stud, nothing wild....and the sky's the limit."

Beautiful.

Worst? Tough one. I'm not down with all the Game of Thrones hate but it probably is that one actually.

I’m still not convinced by The Sopranos ending. Just left me cold.

It’s so, so perfect.

Nah.

To be fair you don’t like the ending of The Shield so I should take you liking The Sopranos as vindication I’m right.

The end of The Shield reminds me of me in every job I've ever had.

You stitched up your co-workers?

Lost is the worst. GoT is close because of the hype and failing to meet lofty expectations, but Lost might have been the weirdest and biggest cop out ending in the history of television.

One I liked was Entourage because I was like 16 at the time and thought everything about that show was super sick.

The office, Sopranos, Breaking Bad for the best.

Worst GOT, Sons and prison Break of course.

six feet under was shite so don't know the ending.

Prison Break? Im struggling to fully recall it but I seem to remember thinking it was quite good? Various characters laying flowers at the grave wasnt it?

LOST was so good for 6 seasons (I think?)- to end it like they did was just shite.

It was similar to GoT in as much there was a huge gap between the last 2 seasons due to a writers strike- pretty sure the writers then changed.

I liked the ending to Justified as well. Also, Kingdom had a shocking, brutal final. Loved that show.

Banshee wasn’t bad either.

    • Whatever it's meant to be, and whether we've signed up to it or not, the key part in all of this is that we as a club are not seen as the main driving force behind it, as happened with Project Big Picture. The Mancs were as involved as we were with that, but they managed to portray themselves as simply following our lead when the shit hit the fan with the media. We're always going to be seen as one of the main players for a breakaway league but that is preferable to being viewed as the instigator.
    • Just leave the fucking game alone! Fuck VAR and fuck all this new bollocks. Oh and City aren't 'Big 6' they are lottery winning wankers who nobody is even arsed about. Wankers
    • It's just panic setting in that it undermines the fsg sell to buy model. The only people arsed about a sell on clause are those dreaming of one day selling him on and moneyballing it in the next transfer window. Everybody slightly normal would be thinking  1. He's a bargain 2. We want him to play his career here. So we don't need to care about sell on clauses.  3. If he wants to go to some mega rich club somewhere down the line, it means we've had a wonder talent on our hands and enjoyed his success for a initial tiny fee.  4. If he doesn't go on to hit the heights we all hope, it's still a tiny fee and we'll clearly still make a profit. It reduces the risk of the transfer should some of the fee today be linked to future sell on.  5. It's only right the club that develops him gets a reasonable fee for developing a talent that we thought was good enough to play in our 1st team squad at 16!    Bottom line, surely all anyone wants is him to be fucking brilliant and spend his career here? Who's arsed about a sell on?
    • They literally make it up as they go along. That offside was really tight yet they looked at it for all of 30 seconds yet Firmino’s last week was checked for about 3 minutes till they got the line right so they could disallow it
    • Ok I really don't understand offside now, why were they checking that cash fella for firminos goal to see if he touched it to make Jota onside and just now checking the Fulham penalty to see if the Fulham player was offside despite it going straight to a defender?
