Ive not been reading this thread so may be off here. People talking of the Nazi rise to power. 

 

It was superbly played by them, right through to around 1940 they seemed to do little wrong in the public eye. The creep of how far they pushed things was brilliantly done. The initial rise and dragging the country of its arse, the public works programmes got everyone onside, then the younger generation was completely fucked over by the brain washing/teachings of the systems, making what we view as disgusting prejudices the norm. Its the reason they got away with as much as they did. A slow tightening of the grip over close to a decade before WW2. Getting everyone in uniform, slowly disappearing the protestors, sidelining them in life, attacking publicly and in the street and eventually sticking all of them in camps, or just killing the 'useless mouths' in the T4 programme, well before they started the ghettos and death camps. Those at school when the came to power where by 1938/39 the first through the Nazi system and ready to be out in uniform. 

 

It's easy to see why so many got wrapped up in something, didn't see anything wrong and bought into the propoganda machine.
