Clearly, throwing food and committing murder are much of a muchness; the one always leads to the other.

Give your head a wobble, you daft twat.

At least moof is honest about condoning violence against political enemies. You try and pretend otherwise.

A man has been charged with common assault and criminal damage after Nigel Farage had a milkshake thrown at him while on a walkabout in Newcastle city centre.

The Brexit party leader’s suit was left covered in the drink after the incident at about 1pm on Monday and he was quickly hurried away from the scene by staff.

On Tuesday, Northumbria police said Paul Crowther, 32, had been charged with common assault and criminal damage. Crowther, of Throckley in Newcastle, is due to appear before magistrates in North Tyneside on 18 June.

Describing the incident, a force spokesman said: “At around 1pm, a 55-year-old man had a milkshake thrown at him in the city centre. A 32-year-old man was detained at the scene and arrested by police.

“He has now been charged with common assault and criminal damage.”

But the nutter would have killed him regardless, no? Same as politicians which were killed without cake or eggs being thrown at them previously.

That's not the point. The point is, should we celebrate and condone violent actions carried out on political figures we disagree with? And the answer is no. Condoning violence, leads to normalisation of said violence. If it's okay to attack politicians in the street, then what does that say about us as a society? And what does it say about your political views if you are incapable of rational discourse and need to resort to violence to quash dissenting voices?

He was shot dead by an animal rights activist, over mink farming.

He was a right cunt though, Pim.

The man killed him because of a whole host of things - including mink farming. He said in his own words that his views on Islam and scapegoating muslims was one of the main reasons why he did what he did. You're purposely trying to deflect his actions onto his vegetarianism and not his left wing views, and you know that's disingenuous.

Can we call the murderer a nutter and not a left-winger please.

NSFW tags would be boss for the fucking corpse I've just had to view.

Melt.

Sorry about that. I can't edit it now, it's past the time limit.

On the subject of that, how do you wrap in NSFW tags on this new layout?

All the initial reports were the mink farming. The response to the Islamophobia and the someone should have done it to Hitler all came later on during the court case. It was all quite memorable at the time.

Incidentally, if animal rights made him a left wing activist, does Pim's pro gay rights activism also make him a left winger?

He was a left winger that was also an animal rights activist. Pim was gay and also a right winger. They aren't mutually exclusive.

So animal rights and environmental activism automatically equals left wing whilst pro gay rights does not?

OK.

You can be an animal rights activist and right wing, but the vast majority of PETA for instance would be left wing. Being gay and conservative is actually quite common by comparison.

It's not done with a violent intent, it's done as a political statement using certain types of food to create a comedic effect, it's mostly done to people the perpetrator thinks should be ashamed of their words/deeds, so he is symbolically publicly shaming them. It's actually the opposite of violence. Its akin to 19th century opera goers throwing rotten tomatoes (did they always bring them to the opening nights just in case?) on stage as a sign they think the new opera is rubbish. Only this time in political arena / stage.

Also, as I said, the perpetrator should be charged for damages and assault.

But you have just assumed that Volkert van der Graaf is left wing from his other activities.

Pim wasn't that conservative in his gayness like. He was pretty flamboyantly out there.

Nobody has questioned whether it's illegal: the question is "is it violence?"

Of course he was left wing, radically so. Are you suggesting he was secretly right wing?

Seriously? It's a criminal offence. You are forcibly throwing an object at a person without provocation.
