I do like him,

At the 2024 Democratic National Convention, vice presidential nominee Tim Walz took the stage to Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.”

Walz personally sought Young’s permission to use the song and received the musician’s approval.

The song is an apt choice, as it had been previously used by Donald Trump during his initial presidential announcement way back in 2015. However, Trump did not have Young’s permission to use the song then, and despite Young’s repeated cease-and-desist threats, the song continued to be played on the campaign trail in the years that followed. In 2020, Young finally filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Trump.

So she's one of those cat women. I wonder what she makes of Trump's VP pick.

I'm loving the fact that the Dems are getting down and dirty right now too. The Maga cult, from Trump down, are proper odd cunts and there to be shot at. Quite fucking literally.

They have millions of followers online. They have been major players in right-wing political discourse since Donald Trump was president. And they worked unknowingly for a company that was a front for a Russian influence operation, U.S. prosecutors say.

An indictment filed Wednesday alleges a media company linked to six conservative influencers — including well-known personalities Tim Pool, Dave Rubin and Benny Johnson — was secretly funded by Russian state media employees to churn out English-language videos that were “often consistent” with the Kremlin’s “interest in amplifying U.S. domestic divisions in order to weaken U.S. opposition” to Russian interests, like its war in Ukraine.

The reality and full understanding of this Russian thing will come to light in a dozen or so years.

In 2016, in the lead up to Trump's victory, Facebook estimated that 140million FB users interacted ("liked" / "shared") content secretly created by Russia.

We had the Second World War, the Cold War, and I think in the future we'll call this period the Cyber War.

We're in the midst of it, and because some of the Russian-backed assets are currently very active and popular within the American political landscape, we are unable to fully appreciate it.

When Trump keels over, and those acolytes are finally ridiculed, we'll start to get the full exposure of this period of division and mainstreamed extremism.

I may look at this whole thing with interest and dispassion.

That said, seeing Tucker Carlson or those odd, British actors who have joined the slime trail to pocket a few bob (or, in the case of that smelly fraud Russel Brand, to avoid scrutiny of the British public for sexual abuse) swinging from lamp posts as a closing denouement to this whole turbulent period, would be quietly satisfying.

Did anyone see that weird photoshop the Republicans did to a Vance photo, slimming his jawline in an attempt to make him less fat and slightly improving his looks.

All it led to was much pisstaking.
