I didn't watch the actual debate, but my wife did and she reckons that within a week Biden will announce he's pulling out.

 

Apparently it was a complete and total disaster for him. Which, if he actually has the courage to step back from running again, might actually end up being a good thing for the Democrats?

They might do but I'd not put it past them to be crazy enough to keep going with him. He's got a good bit worse since he was debating Trump four years ago though so maybe they'll be thinking of others soon.

Do the Democrats not want to be in power? Genuine question, maybe people living there know the economy is about to tank or something and not being in charge for the next term is the plan.

 

From the outside it looks utterly ludicrous that they've stuck with a man who should be in a home with round the clock supervision. Not really sure why this debate was a wake up call either. How was this any different six months ago? Or a year ago?

The likes of Buttigieg and Ossoff seem like good future candidates but need more time, Occasio-Cortez probably has no chance of winning, is it down to the likes of Harris, Newsom or Raskin?

The only positive for the Democrats about that debate last night was that it is far enough out from the election that they can put another candidate in place.

That's a real insight into the world of "they". Like everyone else they knew that chap was losing his marbles yet they were prepared to hope they could get 4 or 5 competent hours out of him over the next 5 months. Quite happy to let a frail, incapable man hold the most powerful position in the world.

 

May as well be Hillary now,  it's probably been her all along anyway.

I am aware I probably asked this before, but, are there no medical doctors in the US who can examine Biden and decide is he healthy but a bit old, or is he in early stages in dementia or whatever?

 

I don't get it, there needs to be a televised debate to determine this?

Didn't they recently decide they couldn't prosecute him because they deemed him not well enough upstairs?

Doesn’t anyone with any sense in the states give a flying fuck who’s in charge of their country? 
That last night was an embarrassment from start to finish, Biden was lost most of the time and Trump had an easy job just by letting him ramble.

Trump will win by a landslide if Biden stays in post, and have a massive majority to do as he pleases, (which is scary enough, given one lunatic was allowed to flourish unhindered by the world in the last century), but if by some miracle Biden wins, how’s he going to know what’s happening in a years time?

He’s definitely declined in the last year or two from what I can see.

It’s very similar to the first stages of a Dementia assessment over here, where a Dr will ask simple questions like Biden has been asked, before being referred onto the next stage. 
 

Not cognitive enough to testify in court but deemed enough to be in the most powerful position in the world. 
 

Makes me angry (regardless of what I think of Biden overall) that they treat an ill elderly man like this.

That is not exactly what you said. Legal special council commented on instances of bad memory and he was cleared because of lack of evidence of wrongdoing not because he was examined by a medical professional and deemed not healthy.

Laughing stock the pair of them. I’m not keen on either of ours especially Sunak but at least they’re relatively coherent. On one hand you’ve got Biden who is clearly not mentally capable and Trump who is clearly mentally incapable. Michelle Obama would sort this mess out. If Hilary Clinton gets in we may as well start building bunkers mary.
