Pretty sure I've broken a bone, or at least a bad sprain. Cycled to the shop to get some wine at half time. Blocked. Fell off the bike and skidded across the tarmac. Wrist is fucked and swollen. Then drank 3 more bottles of wine. Worst Hanover in years. Shite match. But the result is what matters, so today I will be watching the highlights of our run to the final again.

6 times.

The fuck is this dickhead on about?

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/andrea-pirlo-slams-divock-origi-16242268

Andrea Pirlo slams Divock Origi and says players should have given him a "kicking"

"Divock Origi was awful," the Italian said on Sky Sport Italia. "He came on in such an important game with that attitude.

"If he hadn't scored, they should've given him a kicking."

Still buzzing, despite the Mother in Law turning up unannounced and me trying to act sober whilst dying. Got enough Jim Beam left to carry on the motion, so fuck it, gonna watch the match again.

No idea.

Mrs Pirlo must have been given the Big D extra time special.

Pirlo -- as a midfielder whose whole philosophy was never to waste the ball -- is absolutely right. Origi was diabolical up to the goal - Spurs had no midfield & left acres of space only for Origi to lose the ball carelessly on 3 or 4 occasions resulting in a Spurs counter when a simple ball played one of ours through. At 1-0 the game was still on a knife edge: one deflection, header, Kompany esque piledriver is all it needed. Of course then Origi scores, it's carnage and all is right with the world's. Pirlo was right behind our goal at final whistle FYI - don't know why.

To add to this when Origi was on he didn’t do a lot of running or closing down of channels which was frustrating as his legs should have been much fresher. Said to my son a few times that Origi was remiss in that area.

Then he scored and he was forgiven his transgressions and we won six.

Diabolical is over-egging it quite a bit. I’ve watched the match three times now and he was fine when he came on, gave the ball away a couple of times but so did Salah in the same time frame. Added to the fact no one on the pitch was great offensively it seems a weird criticism to level just at Origi, for me.

He also got us to the final with a neat finish. He may be ordinary in the big scheme of things, but he's a an ordinary player with a CL winners medal and his contribution handed all the other players a medal to boot. Big Divok has cemented his place in Liverpool folklore and fans will be speaking about him for years to come. Not bad for an ordinary player.

It goes without saying that no Origi, no final. It's not always the greatest footballers on the pitch that have the biggest moments in these games.
