Proud and really really deflated at the same time. The title was lost when they beat Spurs, and I accepted that, but the hope still fucking kills you. After they scored to one all it was completely over, you just knew they'd get in that gear and just grind them down.

If the stories about Brightons players been on the ale for three nights in a row is true, who can blame them. They have done their job and have gotten another PL season.

One fucking defeat all season and we can't win the league. Just says all there is to say about oil money and nandrolone.

Win the CL now please for the love of god.

Its really hard to take today even given the inevitabiltyof it.

I fucking detest Guardiola and the fucking no mark cheats he manages. I bet 10 or so years ago the cunt hadnt even heard of man city.

I honestly feel like we and Klopp are fucking jinxed, we just can't seem to get over the line.

If we lose in Madrid I honestly dont think I'll ever recover.

This team and manager and the great support deserves to win big ears. Just for once will lady luck shine on us when it really matters.

Well done Redmen a super human effort.

Can someone post when the presentation/celebrations are over so I can put my TV back on?

Still going I’m afraid I’ve got it on mute just in case they go back to us while watching LFCtv videos!

Today isn’t a day for what if’s. Goes without saying it’s utterly shit and soul-destroying not to win the title under these circumstances, but there are a couple of key things for me.

We made them win it and kept up our end of the bargain no matter how tough it got, in what was never a fair fight. It would have been the easiest thing in the world for us to wilt and just let it all come to an end anti-climactically. But no, we reeled off 9 league wins in a row while beating a stack of previous European cup winners to reach Madrid, throwing in our greatest ever European performance at least at Anfield into the bargain. Our last 4 or 5 results show phenomenal resilience aside from anything else.

Klopp’s made the club an irresistible, runaway steam-train with all of us pulling in the same direction and has consigned this idea we’re somehow a soft touch to the history books. There are new rules for this Liverpool, and whether it be in Madrid, next season and beyond, or both, we will absolutely benefit from the foundations, the belief, the togetherness, the pride and the sense of destiny Kloppo has instilled in us this year in particular.

The man is a fucking alchemist and a true working class hero for choosing the LFC aura, story and passion when he had his pick of clubs in far more gilded positions within the modern game. He fits us hand in glove and deserves the last word on this league season.

I so much want him to get this shitty 6 finals in a row thing put to bed by lifting the biggest trophy in football and to complete the formality of joining our other legendary Liverpool managers, because that’s exactly what he is. Absolutely transformative and I think however much we all respect him, it will only be one day when he’s gone and we look back at this period in our history that we can fully appreciate what he’s given us back.

I honestly doubt that. I think every team's support realises that the league is the big one.

This.

Nah. The Champions League is the holy grail.

No, it really isnt. Even Shanks said the league is the bread and butter. Proving yourself over now 38 games is head and shoulders over any convoluted mini group and knock out rounds where all sorts of vagracies can determine winners.

I can understand non English and English new age fans thinking the CL is the most prestigeous but until the 'Champions League' is a proper league of National Champions,it will never be better than being Champions of England.

Wolves the team played today like their lives depended on getting result, we could have done with them playing city instead. Ten out of ten for their incredible effort and energy. Maybe to them this was the cup final they didn't get after bottling the semi.

Wolves fans were just a bunch of cunts really so fuck them. They waited until a slight lull in the 40th or so minute to start a chant of 'it's like a library' and I only just heard that over our crowd. Then cheering the city goals as if they themselves had scored, followed by laughing at us for nearly winning the league.

Well you've not only taken Everton's place in the league as also rans but you're also the bitterest cunts to visit us since them. I hope you live in Wolverhampton, I can think of no worse curse.

Gutted. If we don't win the CL I think - here comes that beloved cliche - I'm done with football. Would be devastating after all this to finish empty handed, especially having lost the league to a club that doesn't play by the rules.

So yeah, 29 years waiting for a title, it's 2.25pm on the day of the final match and what happens?  A fucking power cut.  Couldn't even go out to the pub because I had to wait in to see if the leccy board chap needed to access the house if it wasn't something fixable at the sub-station.  Came back on at quarter past bastard five.  It was that bad I went rooting around in the loft to see if I'd chucked a battery powered radio up there at any point.

Based on that I was amazed to discover we hadn't won it - as that guy who only has to leave the room for thirty seconds during a game to miss at least one goal, I'd fully expected to find we'd drilled Wolves 6-0 and City had gone down to a 93rd minute winner which saw Pep run the length of the pitch to fling handfuls of his own shit at the ref before being escorted off under heavy sedation.  But no, City just Citied Brighton and nothing else mattered.  Oh well.

The points haul is obviously great.  Ultimately City lost three more games but won the title due to our seven draws.  Even looking at the draws, one was at home against the champions and four were away against either top tier sides or historical rivals (Arsenal, Chelsea, United and Everton).  The fact remains that if we'd lost any one of those games but beaten Leicester at home, or West Ham away, we'd be champions tonight but that's how tight the margins are when you're trying to beat a side as financially doped as City.  Nothing takes away from what they do on the pitch but a side who can put out a second team that would likely be competing for a Europa League place is always going to be hard to compete with and it's a testimony to our players and manager that we ran them as close as we did.

Like I've said before, it actually feels like a bigger kick in the teeth to me than missing out by 15 points because it was so close this season I could fucking taste it but it will pass.  It always does.  We've got a great core to the squad made up of players who aren't angling for a move anywhere and are all in (or haven't yet reached) the peak of their careers.  A few judicious additions in the summer (and maybe a few departures to make sure that the likes of Lovren really never kick a ball for us again) and we're in good shape for next season.

Now please twat Spurs in the CL final Jurgen.

Can you imagine motor racing, watching a Mclaren go against a BMW 7 series and people actually feel like it's fair? Fans go crazy as the Mclaren comes closer than ever before to nearly losing, even though it's got a 400horses advantage. Load of bollocks.

Utter corruption in the FA. No spend limit for clubs? WTF?

Wolves fans... fuck me. What a horrible horrible bunch. Didn’t wait 5 minutes before belting out “Sign On”. I’ve been to Wolverhampton and it’s not more affluent than Liverpool at all. I really don’t understand it.
