I read an article on how major surgery can completely alter a persons psychology and decision making. Don't know if his interview was after his heart surgery nor am I making an excuse for him but the article which had nothing to do with souness was a real eye opener. Made me think of houllier too.

Im not old enough to remember, but i wonder if it wasnt as much of an issue when he gave the interview. I used to 'hate' him for that interview but it is what it is.

Well obviously social media did not exist so there wasn't a constant narrative like now through forums, twatter etc.

 

24 hours news coverage wasn't a thing either, so every story wasn't done to death - and there obviously wasn't websites with space to fill...

I’ve hated Warnock in the past but I really think he’s mellowed with age. Yeah he said the pen was a bit soft but he also said the defender had his arms round Salah so he gave the ref a decision. 

Before the game he said we had the best front 3 in the world. I can’t be arsed to hate him like I used to in the Rafa days.
