This guy has completely past me by for some reason, I'll have a listen to Scott 4 when I get a chance tonight.

I listened to most of the LP last night & I'm going to be honest, I don't really get it. The orchestration was really nice but I found it a bit croonery for my tastes. Never a great idea to judge albums on first listen so I'll doubtless come back to it at some point but I don't see it ever becoming a favourite of mine by any stretch.

I was a bit disappointed because a lot of people whose opinion I really respect rate it as one of their favourite records.

He is a crooner, Mook! A fantastic voice backed up by fantastic orchestration and production. If that's not your bag - and I've only recently come around to Walker - fair enough...

Aye, not to be negative about Scott Walker but crooning is really not my thing & I have tried with Sinatra as well.

Wonderful talent no doubt but not my cup of tea I'm afraid.

I've unintentionally learned to like him retrospectively through all sorts of other musicians I like. Everyone from Leonard Cohen to Kurt Wagner to a Swedish friend of mine (https://www.deezer.com/en/album/61276862)...
