Miami cannibal attack

On May 26, 2012, a nude assailant, Rudy Eugene, attacked and maimed Ronald Poppo, a homeless man, on the MacArthur Causeway in Miami, Florida, making headlines worldwide. During the 18-minute filmed encounter, Eugene accused Poppo of stealing his Bible, beat him unconscious, removed Poppo's pants, and bit off most of Poppo's face above the beard (including his left eye), leaving him blind in both eyes.[1] As a result of the incident's shocking nature and subsequent worldwide media coverage, Eugene came to be dubbed the "Miami Zombie" and the "Causeway Cannibal".[2] The attack ended when Eugene was fatally shot by a Miami PD officer.

Joke is on you because my birthday is actually the 29th, but that story came up first. My actual one is rather mundane.

82-year-old Florida man arrested for slashing tires in bingo dispute

Police have arrested an 82-year-old Lake Wales, Florida man for slashing a woman's tires because he claimed she was sitting in his favourite bingo seat.

WTVT-TV reports Fred Smith was charged with criminal mischief last Monday when police say he took an ice pick to 88-year-old Ethel Britt's van during a weekly bingo game at the Lake Ashton Retirement Community Club House.

Police say Smith stormed out of the bingo hall and punctured two of Britt's tires because she was sitting in a chair he usually sits in. Smith was caught on surveillance video in the act.

Lake Wales Deputy Chief Troy Schulze Smith says Smith admitted to the crime and expressed regret. Smith faces having to pay $500 in tire damage and restitution back to Britt.

Florida man says he is ready to turn a trailer park into the location of the Trump presidential library.

James Arena, who suggested last year that Briny Breezes, Fla., become Trump Town USA — and then received death threats — said he still thinks the 46-acre waterfront tract would be the perfect setting for the library and a hotel that could host international summits.
