Ha. I was about to take Cafu this round myself. Had a conversation with Bjornebye. Think he was bought into the Sao Paolo squad in 1989 but their season didn't start until spring 1990 .. so 1990 it is! Good eye.

Considered Cafu but a couple of places said he started his career in late 80's. Couldnt find anything to confirm though as the website from last draft didnt do brazillian league.

 

I have no issue with pick by the way. Just saying. He is an all time great like

@John102 - yeah, I did some digging to try and figure it out (time on my hands, obviously!). He was in the Sao Paolo 1990 season squad, but not the 1989 season squad. As the 90 season started in spring of 90, I figure that's when he made his debut. I'm surprised that as an all time great its not clearer who his first professional game was against.
