Glad to know I'm not on my own in liking the cider. Thatchers and Aspull have been the two main stays, both neither overly sweet or Strongbow. Any other recommendations? And has anyone tried Pear cider? Or is that the same as that fruit/berry flavoured stuff which looks and sounds horrific.

Not sure, I've never heard that term before.

Is it overly sweet?

Just like with cider you get several different versions so you cannot say definitively. I can't really remember the brands but a couple calling themselves pear cider were pretty sweet.

Edit: I think Rekorderlig and Bulmer were the sweet ones.
