Welcome to the new and improved TLW!

Some of you may experience issues logging in and will get an 'incorrect password' error. Don't worry, you haven't typed it in wrong and your password hasn't been changed. You will need to reset it though in order to log in. Click the reset password link and you will receive an email with your new temporary password. Once logged in, you need to choose a new password (or restore to your old one) otherwise you will be locked out again.

If you have an out of date email address linked to your account, then you won't receive the new password. If that's the case then you'll need to email me (dave @liverpoolway.co.uk) or send me a tweet @theliverpoolway and I'll update your password manually.

Any other problems or questions just let me know.

Thanks

Dave

Cheltenham 2019

Anyone got/done anything yet?

Watching a preview this evening. First time I've given the festival much thought. I usually get into it several weeks before, don't know why I haven't this year.

Anyway, naps here, ta. So I can retire.

Not had a bet since May but you can’t miss this. I’ve took no interest all year, so hoping it serves me better. The last two years have been woeful.

Think I’ll jump on thistlecrack in the gold cup, for old times sake.

I will be matched betting the fuck out of this.

Bet365 have kindly offered me £50 for each day.

Not gonna be able to get on every offer I want to though because I spent half my bank on a new car a few weeks ago.

I've done shit loads of bets. So many combos I can't remember them all.

Anyhow my big bets are

Supreme - Klassical Dream each way

Arkle - Pravalaguna each way

Ultima - Beware the Bear each way

Champion Hurdle - Apples Jade

RSA - Drovers Lane each way

Albert Bartlett - Dinons each way

Ballymore - Battleoverdoyen

Stayers - Faugheen each way

You think Presenting Percy is in any kind of shape to win a Gold Cup Zonks?

And that Apples Jade will beat Beuveur D'Air?

The lack of a run over fences would normally bother me but you have to believe they know what they're doing. He's won in Cheltenham twice. His last run over hurdles was for fitness and he won in style. They've been schooling him in Galway with parts of the course setup Left handed just for his training. There's a lot going for him. I backed Native River last year but it is rare a horse wins 2 GC in a row unless it's an absolute star. Clan Des Obeaux has the form but I couldn't back it. Whoever Ruby Walsh picks between Bellshill and Al Boum Photo has a has a chance too. I'm sticking with PP out of loyalty though.

Buvuer Dair's run at Kempton at Christmas wasn't great. Apples Jade has just got better and better and the 7lb mares allowance will just tip it in my opinion. I wouldn't be surprised to see Laurina win it but she's nowhere near as fluid jumping as BD and AJ. The 1 2 3 in the betting is how I see it pan out. But if I was right all the time I'd be fuckin loaded and I'm not!!

No idea what horses are running and don't care. The handicaps are always the most interesting and best value races anyway.

What sort of attitude is that to bring to a Cheltenham festival thread?

It's not just about betting, this is the best Jump racing festival in the world, with the best Horses and the best races.

Fucking 'Value', you dope.

This is the Cheltenham Festival, graced by some of the greatest Chasers and Hurdlers in history, home of some of the greatest achievements in Equine excellence, from Arkle, to Comedy of Errors, to Night Nurse to Dawn Run and Kauto Star and Denman and Istabraq and you don't give a fuck what horses are running?

You tit.

Haha! I almost read that like a post on the FF that ended with 'I hope we get beat.'

Stop digging lad.

This is the Cheltenham thread.

Show some respect.

Are you serious? You sound like somebody defending the lizards in Buck House. It's all about making a few quid and hoping the horses live to run a few more races before they are sent to the dog food factory. Harsh but true.

Fuck all for me you pair of cunts.

Did you sign up to Sportpesa when you said you were going to the other week? They’ve got 3 decent offers on. £25 free bet the next day if you back a winner on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, £25 free bet on all losers on Friday if the SP fav wins and £25 for the Grand National if you bet £25 on the Gold Cup. That last one needs to be placed by Wednesday for some reason.

Ive heard people say they are notorious for gubbing people around Cheltenham and trying to not pay them their money. Typical bluenose behaviour.

I'm going to look like a right eejit saying this come Tuesday, but if Beuveur D'air does get beat in the Champion, I can't see it being Apples Jade doing it.

They are certainly bullish about her hopes.

I’m not fussed as they’ve never got any promos on anyway. Only in the last two weekends have they started a ‘bet £10, get a £10 4-fold’.

Spoke to my little sister yesterday and talked her into opening me a new bank account in her name so I can start fresh after I lose what accounts I’ve got left. Just need to get a SIM card with some data and it’ll be all good. Betway, BetFred, Coral and Betfair Sportsbook were some of my best earners and I’ve lost both of my accounts with all of them.
