I thought we were absolutely outstanding, we showed tremendous character out there but just lacked that wee bit of quality in the final third. 

 

Have to laugh at the rush on here to declare our title chances over, though. It was similarly impossible at the start of the season as City were going to go unbeaten without conceding a goal. 

 

One point off top with what should be an easier run of games. More players than VVD and Mane need to stand up if we’re to have any chance, though.

Another "one of those days", it's these games that are going to kill us in the end. Credit where it's due our defense is very solid and there's been a remarkable improvement since last season, but going forward whenever the pressure is on we just shit the bed and forget how to string simple passes together. If we could get together our offence of last season with our defense of this we'd be well in front but unfortunately it's just not happening.

 

Salah is probably the best example. His confidence is all gone, and you know in these last few games every time he gets the ball he's either going to knock it into an opposition player or play a hopelessly overcooked pass. That hopeless attitude is spreading throughout the team, and it's shown me, great player as he is, he's not a real warrior and he allows setbacks to drag him down and defeat him too easily.

 

More leaders is what we need. Unfortunately I think this year is gone as mentally we are probably in an unstoppable slide, so we'll have to learn from it and see what we can do in the summer.

We aren’t winning the league because City are better than us.  We got some luck when they fluke lost some games.  There’s no great shame in it because they’ve cheated having a country’s wealth behind them.  It’s still frustrating though because our problems could have been foreseen and solved.  Get your wide forwards wide and it will open the game up.  Instead we seem to not have the tactical set up or discipline to do it.

Them subs were the changes of a man who was to scared to risk the loss to go full out for the win. Adam fucking Lallana when we're desparate for a winner?  a total travesty of a substitution.

 

A 7 point lead to a 1 point deficit in a matter of weeks.

It's all going 2009 with death by a 1000 draws.

 

A league title there to be won and Everton and Silva wanted it more than our players and manager.

It's like getting a par on a hole where you think you will get a birdie. Disappointing but result wise it isn't a disaster. 

 

The positive is that it's a horrible game out of the way. Despite us playing poorly in attack, we had about 3 big chances.

 

Mo was shocking out there. Even though he has games where he is world class, he has games like today where he is really poor. A player like Aguero may have quiet days, but i always feel he is dnagerous. That's what a world class player does and Mo is the level down from that.

As a team which is supposedly challenging for the title, our lack of creativity in the midfield is just shocking. Totally unacceptable. Our attacking play is just so predictable. No variation at all.
