After reading a couple of articles in the Chicago Sun Times, this looks like another political quagmire involving Chicago PD, the prosecutor seemingly at war with them, various political pressures, race relations. Enough material for a good season / series  of The Wire.

Jussie Smollett‘s TV drama crashed and burned Wednesday night, when 3.97 million viewers tuned in – the lowest ratings in the show’s history, according to TVLine.

A day earlier, Smollett told reporters that he was ready “to get back to work” after Chicago prosecutors dropped all criminal charges against him for allegedly fabricating a racial and homophobic attack.

Fox has not said whether “Empire” will be renewed for another season.

Lee Daniels, the show’s co-creator and executive producer, has said that the past few weeks have been “a freakin’ rollercoaster” for the cast and crew.
