Yeah IMO Kaka then should be allowed as his name is Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite

No one calls Kaka that. As far as people know, his name is only Kaka. On the other hand, Alcantara is Thiago's recognized surname.

Anyway, this debate is boring me to death.

Alisson is titled 'Alisson' on Wikipedia, Premier League website & Transfermarkt .. don't think there should be much debate there. A suggestion that Kaka is allowed is to be honest just a bit farcical. Draw a line under it & just send any debatable choices to the adjudicator for the remainder of the game & take his judgement on it.

Why are you diverting this even further? Just send the query on to the mediator of the game. And with regards of 'Ederson Moraes', which name do you think is used predominantly to describe that footballer for Manchester City -- 'Ederson', or 'Ederson Moraes'?

Alisson and Ederson are clearly their first names. If you’re saying that that doesn’t matter because what’s more important is the names they’re known by, then Thiago shouldn’t count.

Thiago is Spanish. He's known as Thiago but his last name is Alcantara. He's sometimes called Thiago Alcantara. Bjornebye said it was fine.

You weren't here all day yesterday when it was your turn and now you wanna give your opinion? Nah, not for me.

I didn't really want to have to say this for the millionth time but SOME PLAYERS HAVE MORE THAN ONE NAME BY WHICH THEY'RE COMMONLY KNOWN. The example I gave was Gilberto Silva - he is COMMONLY known as both "Gilberto" and "Gilberto Silva", as evidenced by the posts yesterday when one person said he's "Gilberto" and another "Gilberto Silva". Hence, he could be either a "G" or an "S" player. It's the same with Thiago - he gets called "Thiago" and "Thiago Alcantara". You're looking for a hard-and-fast rule to apply to all players equally when one doesn't exist.

Yup. On with the game. Already lots of players I feel stupid for forgetting -- Albelda is one, Thiago Alcantara another. All the teams in this look like they've got the potential to win - will be interesting to see how the second-half of the picks line up.
