They're classed as a reserve side, as it states on their Wikipedia page. They also can’t play in La Liga or the Copa del Rey. The Spanish league doesn’t function like ours.

Actually, where does it say he made his debut for the ‘B’ team before 1985 anyway? It just says on Wikipedia he was with the team from 84-88, I can’t find any information on when he debuted for them.

 

It also states his youth career was until 1985.

If they’re a professional then they’d be able to get promoted. They’re a reserve side. 

 

Saying that, I’ll take Amor out if someone can prove he made his debut before 1985. I can’t find any stats on him before the 87/88 season, though I’m sure they’re out there somewhere.

Barcelona B played in the Segunda Div in those years. That has to count as a debut, regardless of any nitpicking over the status of the team, surely.

 

And you're right - there's no evidence he debuted before 85 but the burden of proof has to be on you to prove he didn't otherwise the only info we have is that he started there in 1984 and then the assumption has to be that he debuted then...

I don’t think so. There is absolutely no evidence I can see that he debuted before 1985, getting promoted to that team as a 16/17 year old doesn’t mean he played for them straight away and I don’t see why anyone would assume that or why the onus would be on me to prove something I don’t think happened. He was a youth player until 1985.

I'm not assuming it, I get where you're coming from, but the basic criterion is that he has to have to made his debut from 85 onwards. You may well be right that he did, but in the absence of any definitive info saying when he debuted, how could he possibly be eligible? That lack of definitive info would have to make him ineligible, not eligible, surely?
