Ultimately it must be a positive thing that we've got so little to be angry about these days, we're reduced to getting angry about stuff that didn't happen.

 

Next week: Richard Stilgoe is publicly flogged for briefly considering leaving a turd in a flaming paper bag on his neighbour's doorstep in 1958.

I think it's natural to have biases and part of being a decent human being is knowing that superficial differences have no substantive value.

 

That he went off looking for someone to assault sounds psychotic but if we're willing to cut him some slack, that can be put down to a state of secondary shock.

 

Of course, all nuance and context will be lost in the gaping maw of social media hysteria.
