Normal service has been resumed.

Excellent, professional performance.  Clean sheet. Sharp attacking. (Should have been eleventy nil, if not for some excellent goalkeeping, dodgy finishing and a crossbar.) Shit officials. Lovely weather. Gini is back. Trent is coming back. Brilliant atmosphere.

Spring is coming, Kids!

Wijnaldum's back. Trent's back. Salah's back on the right. Fabinho and Keita have settled in a 3 man midfield. Get Gomez and Lovren back and we're cooking with gasoline.

Wijnaldums back and you're gonna be in trouble
(Hey-la-day-la Wijnaldums back)
You see him comin' better cut out on the double
(Hey-la-day-la Wijnaldums back)
You been spreading lies that the titles gonna be sky blue
(Hey-la-day-la Wijnaldums back)
So look out now 'cause he's comin' after you

Good game, we needed to get back to clean sheets and making teams wary of our counters should they overcommit.

Great to see Trent involved, and once we get our Captain back we'll be even better.

Are you suggesting that teams we play aren't wary of this already?

I haven't got time for this

Great stuff, could notice the difference immediately, reactions were quicker, more sprints, more zip to the passes it was like watching a different team.

We should stay away from dubai next year though, either the food it causing our players to shit their guts out, or the warm weather training doesn't do us favours when our next match is on a snow covered pitch. Either way we've blown the cobwebs off, and in the grand scheme we've had plenty of rest.

It's set it up nicely for tomorrow too, we've given city plenty to worry about now, right before a tough game against a team fighting for a champions league spot.

And we've silenced the haters who were calling us bottlers.

It was a relief to see us playing well and looking settled again after the other two games. Had to use streams that kept lagging and freezing so missed the 2nd goal then fell asleep in the 2nd half. At least got to see our final goal before that though.

Not looking forward to the next league match but it's about time Utd got brought down to earth a bit and it might happen shortly. They play PSG, then Chelsea then us. They have 2 more games after that then play PSG, Arsenal, City. Surely there's gonna be at least a couple of defeats in those games.

Start doing again what we were doing really well earlier in the season, and none of what we've been doing so poorly of late. When we've got teams where we want them, step on their throat and don't let up.

Nice to see that the performance had much more of this than our performances of late.

Some fluid football, a solid back line and some excellent goals created by speed of thought allied to great movement. That's what I want from us in every game. Take Salah's goal for instance. Salah's run takes his marker out of the picture by getting ahead of him and cutting inside before receiving the pass. The defender was absolutely powerless to do anything, and Mo had the option of a shot or even a square pass to the unmarked Robbo.

This gave me a wee giggle

I was looking at the player ratings on the echo website, usual stuff, 7's 8's and 9's with small descriptions of the performances.

Then

Divock Origi (for Mane 87)

Belgian.

NP equates that as a 1/10 at best.
