It's a no from me. Partly due to the very tedious trip hop track on that video and partly because I think I would be about the sixth best player in Ligue 1. The standard of keeping and defending looked truly abysmal.

 Harsh. That could be Steve0 talking about Mo anytime in the last 3 seasons! Shall we not buy anyone from a weaker League? 

I know it's a highlights reel but I was impressed by his finishing and eye for a pass. Has a knack of finding the corner, wouldn't put many of them down to GK errors TBF.

Me too. Half the goals look like they were scored with an outfield player in nets. Taking out penalties and shots I would have saved then his numbers are in Glen Murray territory.

How many times do we watch goals and remark how good the defender or GK was. Pretty much every goal that's ever been scored, we can pick the bones and be critical of a defender or GK. Anyway, he's ace is Pepe.

The idea that Ligue 1 is a pub league is one that I expect our nerds to exploit regularly in the next few years. Arbitrage (where Henry made all his money) is all about recognising undervalued assets, and our whole analytics team specialises in exactly this.

 

If people think the league that produced Mbappe, Kante and Dembele (just to cite a few from the last few years) is rubbish, then get in and buy them while they're under-valued.

 

Of course, almost half of Pepe's goals this season were from the penalty spot, so he's probably over-valued as a result, but that's just him, not the league. He has massive potential but I'm not sure he's at the level required to back up Mane and Salah just yet.
