We have VVD, Gomez and Matip. Both Hoever and van der Berg look ready to do a job. Fabinho can also fill in if needed. Selling  a 30 y.o. 4th choice CB makes perfectly sense all things considered.

I think Van Der Berg was the replacement. A few reports said he was for the first team squad when we got him.

After taking Salah and Alisson off them for peanuts, it seems unfair that we should give them Lovren too. What have poor Roma done to deserve this treatment?

Moreno, Sturridge and now Lovren all gone.

 

This is up there with one of our best transfer windows for outs no question. All contributed zero for a long time and in Lovrens case was a liability

Sources: Sané transfer to Bayern is getting closer. The transfer fee would be around 100m Euros and the German speedster would sign a 4 or 5 year deal with the Bavarian giants.

Klopp probably takes the not unreasonable position that if you are going to have centre backs making mistakes, they might as well be youngsters who will learn from it rather than a 30 year old fourth-choice on a big wage.
