About the same I think, officially through City's books. The rest of it was covered by the ownership group.

We know that they are putting loads of the added costs onto the ownership group's books rather than the clubs. The examples are when they signed Tevez from Joorabchian's management company that officially owned him, and when they signed Mangala from Porto. The Tevez fee was reported as £25m and that's the figure City put in their books, but the actual transfer fee was about £45m including agent fees etc. The extra wasn't shown on City's books. Same with Mangala, whose fee was reported as £32m but Porto stated that the total was about £10m more than that. Why the difference?

It's exactly why City's wage bill and agent fee costs are lower than Liverpool's for example. They are paying much more than us, it's just that a large chunk of it is accounted for away from the club's books.

Worldwide exclusive from Trumo here on the little known tale of Man City’s creative accounting.

That has all happened very quickly, obviously moves were going on behind the scenes again.

You’d like to think we’re slick enough nowadays that Mignolet was only allowed to go once this deal was already effectively done.

I’m quite sure typing this could blow up in my face, given I still have PTSD from some of our hamfisted clusterfucks of yore, but you’d certainly like to think so.

Happy with Adrian and that looks like good business overall.

We have cleaned up the wage bill and removed the deadwood and players that cause panic - just Lovren to go now.

VVD is equal to about 3 world class players - we have distorted the market but now teams are forced to pay huge sums for much inferior players.

I can see why we have ducked out of the market - it is massively overheating!

I like Ake, but this is fucking ridiculous.

For sure. It’s becoming interesting to a degree, as this ludicrous new income stream across Premier League teams is handing them all nuclear weapons they’ll have to think twice about using, because their neighbours have them too.

Camacho on 7k a week.

Just shows how fucking mental football is. No wonder few of these kids make it to first teams. They've made it before they kick a ball. Nearly 350k a year as a youth team product. Fucking crazy

It's not quite as rosy as that. Half of that money goes in tax. Then you need to remember that their careers are over by the time they're 35.

Hearing Manchester United will launch a triple transfer assault for the Bournemouth defender, Adam Lallana and a former England goalkeeper. I’m told the dossier drawn up by the club is called ‘Ake Breaky Hart’.

Yeah. That’s so bad I’ll rep it.

The club waiting to announce Moreno and Sturridge were leaving until after Madrid had been celebrated and so letting them have their moment is very like Adrian being announced today once Mignolet has had his.

Whatever anyone thinks about those as individuals, we’re showing a lot of class with this sort of stuff toward outgoing players generally at the moment. Wonder if it’s Klopp’s doing.
