Another "aren't Liverpool so clever and boss at transfers" article from the Echo. Basically saying Liverpool have panicked Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus into spending tons of cash. But Liverpool are dead clever and don't need to bother with all that.

We were so clever scraping 4th before spending big where needed.

We’re great at getting in to promising positions then pissing it away patting ourselves on the back for a job well done, instead of realising that the job has really only just begun.

Feels like the exact same scenario and the exact same mistakes from when we were last European Champions.

Being The Champions of Europe is the base camp, not the summit - this is where you lay the foundations for an era of domination.

It's like people forget Klopp is still here for 3 more years. He's not working on a short leash like almost every other manager in the world, hence he has no need to spend unless he thinks it's the perfect player. You'd think this would have been clear by now, instead of the day in day out wondering of why we "aren't building from a position of strength".

Being linked with the Augsburg left back now, Philipp Max.

He created a mad amount of assists the season before last. Did nothing of note last season though. He's meant to have the best cross in the Bundesliga.

We ha e fucked up from a position of strength in each of the 4 times we finished 2nd since 02. Not strengthening the team will be a mistake, especially with our 3 main forwards all playing non stop since Aug 2017 with the WC and this summers tournaments

And that means you don't strengthen the squad and that a bunch of kids without first team football are ready to step up.

It's not like we can afford to drop points if the plan is to win the league. Another decent attacking option of the bench last year might have won us the league. To expect our front three to go the season again without injury after 2 full years without a proper break is nuts.

Not to mention it's pretty terrible market this summer. Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Muenchen, Manchester Utd, et al... need to rebuild, Barcelona, Spurs, et al... need "signature" signings -- all while the pool of players aren't that good and extremely overpriced. Yes, this team needs some cover at fullbacks and forwards, but apparently there are no clear better options in the market than our own youths -- I can live with that.

Lookswise, he has touch of Karius about him. Remembering that Bruno Cheyrou was the spit of Zidane, despite being a bag of wank, this could work in our favour.

Get him signed.

Here he is alongside their resident Craig Bellamy lookalike...

The players who completed a dramatic comeback against Barcelona, won the Champions League and put 97 points on the table deserve another chance to show that it wasn't a one-off.

If we'd have won the league, champions League and the domestic cups, we should still be looking to improve. It's the very basics of all sport. As soon as you think you've cracked it and there's no way to improve, you're already being caught up by your rivals, as they'll all be striving to improve.

And next summer will be a euros and those summer tournaments are so hard to buy in. And of course there's no value in January windows. It's just weak excuses, it's never easy to buy.
