Borussia Dortmund & Liverpool are seen as the most likely contenders for the signature of Bayern Leverkusen’s Julian Brant. Brandt has a €25M (£21M) release clause that undersells his market value by about 50 percent. [@Honigstein] https://t.co/eesmPp4dUX

Arnt Dortmund signing T. Hazard.

Wonder if they'd sign both. I guess with Pulisic out it would made sense

Solid source there. He’ll be able to negotiate a ridiculous salary with that clause, which would be offset anyway by the bargain price. Sounds like he’d be ideal for us. And we won’t have missed out on anything if any player chooses Dortmund over us right now.

I post on here about how much of a fanny Lovren is and selectively forget I wanted to keep him as cover.

You are allowed to hold two completely contrary views at the same time you know. That's what makes posting on TLW such fun.

He's a decent 4th choice,  but I hope we replace him with a brilliant 1st teamer.

If he's decent then we're all fucked. As the gif says, he's a liability.

Mignolet, Lovren, Moreno, Lallana & Sturridge all need to be moved on and replacements for all brought in.

All offer us fuck all.

If truth be told, all should have been moved on last summer, so it's a year overdue.

It’s just silly. Buy a brilliant first teamer to be fourth choice instead of an accomplished pro who’s been here for years and is boss for the dressing room atmosphere? We’re very well stocked at centre half. No need for a change there

The De Ligt stuff makes no sense unless we've effectively given up on Gomez being a first 11 player and if we're getting rid of Lovren or Matip. Way too much of a shift in strategy after finishing with the best defense in the league. He's signing for Barca.

De Ligt is better than Gomez so it does make sense.

All our centre backs look miles better alongside VVD and with Allison in goal, that doesn't make them better players though.

It would send out a huge statement if we signed the best young centre back in Europe.

De Ligt and Brandt would be great signings.

Yeah, but you're not going to sign a 19 year old centre back for 70m or whatever when you already have a 21 year old centre back who has shown signs of being really good. It would essentially say "we don't believe in Joe Gomez".

Plus, we have an actual budget and financial constraints. It's not a big enough need to justify the spending.
