We definitely need a change of attitude or system or both, or personnel! That was worse than Watford away. With this much of the ball, Keita has to play. We don't need hen and gini. They're letting fab receive it, and pressing his passing lanes straight away. We need hen or gini to give him more of an option or else get Trent off if he can't give one.

Worryingly pedestrian. Let's hope they tire and we get a break.

Well that was difficult to masturbate to.

Controlled the game, but barely created anything. Front 4 far from clicking. Mane looked the most likely, but his first touch was too poor too often. Fabinho and Trent looked shaky. Gini and Hendo were average, but with that line-up you would’ve expected a bit more spark to be delivered by the guys in front of them.

Henderson just keeps it ticking over, no confidence, no bottle. When you want/need some creativity, a runner, a bit of fucking movement, getting into the fucking box, he offers absolutely fuck all. Sideways, backwards. There were times there, he’s in space receiving it, control it an move forward but his 1st touch is to pass backwards. I realise he’s playing deep and that’s his role but when the opportunity arises he just plays it too simple. Fabinho in the short time he’s played in that role has showed Hendos incompetence up big time.

The City game will have been a massive boost to most other sides. City, as league winners, retain an aura that we just don’t have - we were building something similar but teams will make far fewer mistakes against us until we hammer a few of them.

It’s essential that we improve and win this game, or the title really fades into the distance - you can’t drop points against the likes of Brighton when you only have a small lead over the standard of teams immediately behind us in the table.

Agree with the sentiments about formation. One of the reasons Salah was so insanely good last year was that he was always matched up against a fullback, with him normally being stronger in the duels. He thus provided us with a valuable outlet whenever we wanted to get the ball upfield quickly. That just doesn't happen with CB's the size of Dunk/Duffy. For all of Salah's strengths he's not an in between the lines player of Silva's ilk. He needs to be able to take on players, and that's not happening through the middle (enough at least). The formation doesn't get the best out of Firmino either.

For us to continue playing with the same formation, one of the 6s MUST be able to carry the ball through the first line, and Henderson can't and Wijnaldum doesn't seem like he wants to. Us passing the ball around their midfield and endless lofted balls over the top isn't the solution, that much I know.

Hopefully Jurgen sorts it out. Keita on for Henderson would be me preferred choice if we don't change the system/positions. I know he doesn't really deserve it, but we need goals, and we aren't getting any this way.

12 minutes ago, Bobby Hundreds said:

Poor half felt like sterile domination was back. Horrible that dropping any point at all feels like a knife in the belly due to the relentlessness of city and spurs. This second half of the game and second half of the season is pure terror. I wish I could be a fan that just enjoys the ride.

This is exactly it.

Ordinarily it is just the way it is that you'll get a few flat performances against weaker sides over a season and come away with a draw and think oh well at least we didn't lose and move on...but the bar is now set to such a ridiculous height that a draw here today would be jumped on by the media and in fairness we as fans would be gutted too.

It is great being in this title race but it just isn't a normal one at all is it. Things are getting distorted with every game being seen as a must win when it simply isn't realistic to win every week.

We look tired and out of ideas. TAA has to go off, it was crazy starting him in the first place. Great timing for him to be injured, just when we've sent our only other right-back away on loan.

Definitely need to change something for the 2nd half, we haven't really been much of a threat at all. Cannot afford to drop points here.
